I wanted new gutters because the old ones overflowed in a heavy rain. I'm sure the original contractor profited by undersizing them and the installers never tried to pitch gutters towards the drains. Hurricane Michael accelerated those plans. During bidding, Donnie Hammond, owner of The Gutter Company, made measurements. He described the craftsmanship of his inside and outside corners and how he stands behind the materials and workmanship on his 6" seamless gutters. Then he demonstrated how strong they were by literally standing on a section. He showed me the smooth surface of the Shur Flo gutter guard and directed me to a video showing them being cleaned after years of non-attention. Price was competitive, and delivery was great (2 weeks)--much better than the 3 months that competitors needed. Mr. Hammond surprised me by being foreman of the installation crew. It was a two day job with several patrols each day to pick up debris. The only unplanned cost was $70 for an extra downspout, which slight settling of my house made desirable. Look at the picture. Prices were very reasonable and fair (which hasn't always been the case with many companies post hurricane). They pay attention to detail and didn't try to sell me gutter I didn't need. Donnie communicated with me regarding my scheduled appointment time and when weather slowed them down a day, he contacted me 2 days in advance to let me know of the change in schedule, which was beyond his control. These guys are true craftsmen and professionals! Donnie is very responsive and listened to all of our concerns. He called when he said he would, showed up on time and didn't leave until the job was perfect. He left us with beautiful gutters that seamlessly blend with the rest of the house. More importantly though, he installed gutters that now function as they should, with the benefit of full 5" downspouts, unobstructed by sloppy cut jobs and perfectly pitched runs that don't hold water as our previous gutters did. They are artists with the corners solving the problems with the leaks we had at each corner of the house due to sloppy installation of the previous gutters. The whole crew was extremely friendly, polite and respectful and left our home neater than they found it. We know we won't need to have this job done, again. While that is wonderful, I'm only sorry because this was one the most satisfying transactions we've had in the renovation of our home and we would love to have them back.
