Lovely interior and, luckily on this hot day, a beautiful garden full of greenery and hanging baskets of colourful flowers. The perfect place for that quick 'half'. My partner saw, as we arrived, a place for the Cornish Cream Tea which we decided to visit BUT then we saw the delectable meals and nibbles that were being brought out of the kitchen of the pub. Seeing beer mugs full of 'shell on' prawns, she decided to forego the cream tea. She went in the pub to order and before she had returned, the cutlery arrived followed, a few minutes later by the prawns with fresh local bread, butter and a small dish of mayo. The prawns were jammed into the mugs, to its full capacity. You can't beat the friendly, fast, service. I jokingly said to the server that I thought it very unfair that they walked past each table with the various plates of food making the taste buds salivate. He answered that we should have taken a table around the corner then we wouldn't have seen the food. Laughing. Great pub. Looking forward to a repeat visit some time in the future.

The inside is small and comfortable, with a low ceiling and varied seating. There's one widescreen TV for the football and a large projector that can descend for a big occasion like an England World Cup game - as was the case when we were there. The food is excellent - proper Cornish pasties were provided for our large group - and there is a good selection of local ales and ciders. There's also a really great outside area which leads directly to a massive field. It was a really great place to sit as the sun was setting. If I have one complaint it's the prices. This is a small village in Cornwalll, not Central London, yet a round of drinks for four people will set you back a rather astonishing £15. And that's just beer and cider.
