Saturdays are really busy so was glad I decided last minute to book a table. The menu is filled with sandwiches, bagels, paninis etc and all come with soup for £5.95 which is a bargain when you see the portions. However the most popular order seemed to be the high tea for two, which at £5 per person is amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, with a mix of couple, familes and quite a few grannies being treated to tea and cakes by their grandkids. The decor is nothing fancy, but the setting and welcoming staff easily makes up for it There is fabulous selection of Suki teas and homemade baking. Soups of the day this week were tomato with basil and potato and leek. Last wee I tried the curried butternut squash which was amazing! The setting is lovely and the food is well worth the 15min drive from Dennistoun. There is a garden centre and lovely views onto the loch so you could easily spend a few hours over a coffee, chatting and escaping city life. Just round the corner from Kinning Park Subway station, it's in a good location for workers in the local factories and businesses if they fancy a good fry up in the morning. There's a big enough seating area which stretches out to the back of the shop but the main selling point for me is that they do tea for 70 pence! That is exactly what I want to hear when I'm needing a brew. It seems friendly and family orientated - they lady's wee girl was back from school and helped me with directions! It's a chilled out but cozy place to grab a seat and a hot drink. There's a healthy selection of food and sandwiches all for very affordable prices. I love cafe's like this because they aren't run as a self-conscious, glaringly new trendy Wifi-cocktail-cafe/bar. Such places are starting to give me a headache so it's nice to visit somewhere a bit more community orientated rather than another faceless, corporate coffee house. It's laid back, grounded and cheap - so you can relax here in all senses of the word. And the woman's wee girl was really animated and adorable, so I left with a smile on my face.

The portion came served with bread and was absolutely huge - it was also somewhere between soup and stew, thanks to the chunky vegetables in it. Perfect for warming up on a chilly day. I've occasionally visited for events in the past and they seem very happy for their space to be used as more than just a coffee shop. I think it changed hands a couple of years ago but that hasn't at all diminished the feeling you get that Big Mouth is part of a real community in Partick, one that it deserves some credit for helping to grow.
