Dont take your kids here. My children came home repeating curse words from teachers (holy fuck & shit) , staff doesnt verify whos picking up the kids, and i overheard them yelling at a 3yo. I requested a refund due to the fact that we had to move schools immediately for fear of my childrens safety and well being and Cindy told me that she wouldnt give me a refund because i didnt address these concerns in a timely manner. When i expressed fear regarding maltreatment from teachers following a report she dismissed all my concerns entirely stating she knows her employees and that they would NEVER do such a thing. First let me start by saying DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDS HERE!!! They constantly lie about what is going on. They sent my 2 year old child home with dirty diapers and rashes from not cleaning properly, when I picked him up he had food and sauce over his arms due to them not wiping him off after eatting, and my child almost everyday when I picked him up would BEG me for water and was clearly dehydrated. After me telling them how they abused my child and didn't give him the care or attention he needed they still forced us to pay an additional 2 weeks. This place DOES MOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD. Do NOT send your kids here, it is simply not safe. Their website saying they run this daycare as a school, with dedicated long-term/trained staff is a bold-faced lie. That website has not been updated in years and they hire a revolving door of high-schoolers and moms with no childcare experience beyond raising their own kids. The staff are miserable because the ratios are almost at max and they have no discipline power. I've heard from them that violent/bullying students have been allowed to run wild there, and have chased off more than one teacher/other paying client because the owner refuses to do anything about them except give them more rewards, even when they physically harm other students and staff. My heart goes out to the teachers there who I saw were legitimately trying their best but got completely steamrolled by administration. I decided to withdraw after my child kept coming home with unreported injuries and claims that he was getting relentlessly bullied in class. The owner definitely cares more about her paycheck than the safety of your child. read more

My child started coming here when he was 2 years old. The issues began shortly after he turned 3 and was moved to a different class. In December 2018, I arrived at 5:00 p.m. to pick him up. He had several long scratches near his left eye and swollen bruising underneath his right eye. The scratches were deep enough that to this day, several weeks later, he still has a scar. The afternoon teacher informed me that according to the morning teacher, my son threw mulch at another 3 year old, and that child retaliated by scratching my son's face. When I asked about my son's swollen eye, nobody there could give me an explanation. When I later asked about camera footage, I was told that the incident happened in an area outside the camera's field of view. Taking great care not to seem accusatory, my wife left a message for the director, asking for more information regarding our son's injuries. Instead of expressing concern for our child and attempting to find out how he suffered a swollen eye, the director responded by implying that our son was at fault. She said that my 3 YEAR-OLD doesn't respect other people's personal space and "is always getting into other people's faces." (Anyone with any experience with toddlers should know that toddlers aren't well know for respecting personal space.) The director went on to say that she believes this to be a sign of development delay. She then cited that my 3 year-old always hits others and cannot keep up with lessons. It should be noted that practically every time I pick him up, I ask his teachers how he's doing. More often than not, I was told that he was doing well and that he's "very smart." After hearing this from the director, I spoke with one of my son's teachers and specifically asked her if he has issues hitting others or not being able to follow along with the class lessons. She replied that although he has hit others in the past, she hasn't witnessed that behavior in months. She also said that he has no problems with lessons and seems to be "very smart." Nevertheless, wanting to be certain that we, as parents, were doing everything we could, my wife and I had him evaluated by his pediatrician (UTMB). We were told that our son didn't present any developmental concerns. We informed the daycare director of this and offered to give her a copy of the evaluation results. She said she doesn't need to see it, because she knows for sure that our son has development delay issues. About one month later, I pick up my son and again seen him with bruising underneath his right eye. I was told that according to the morning teacher, my son "touched" another child's foot during nap time, and that child retaliated by kicking him in the face. My attempts to directly contact the morning teacher who witnessed the incident were unsuccessful. I was again told that the area, where the incident occurred, was outside camera coverage. When my wife contacted the director to get further information about the incident, the director again appeared to blame our son, whom she's certain has developmental issues. She insisted that we have him screened again and even gave us the contact information for a place where he can be evaluated by another "professional." I became suspicious of the director's agenda. After a bit of research, I found out that children with diagnosed developmental delay fall under protection of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Daycares receive tax credits and tax deductions for complying with the ADA. I can't say with certainty that this explains the director persistently insisting that our son had developmental delay issues, but my wife and I decided to find another daycare. After finding a new place, we informed a Growing Place employee that our son will be leaving and attending a new daycare in two weeks. A couple of days after we gave notice, the director contacted us and said our son had to leave the center that day. She said she had just found out that we intended to have him start a new daycare, and that it wouldn't be fair to the teachers to continue caring for him since he would be leaving in two weeks. Fortunately, my work schedule allowed me to pick him immediately and make arrangements for him to begin attending the new daycare the next day. I cannot recommend this place any less. read more

I sent my son to this daycare where he came home on multiple occasions with bites scratches and bruises from other children. Anytime I asked what happened they never had an answer and my son was getting more aggressive which isn't like him which leads me to believe he was being abused. This daycare does not help with potty training and half the time he came home there was shit stains on my sons ass because they can't properly change a toddlers diaper. Horrible horrible daycare. Don't sent your kid here if you like them to be in a safe environment. read more

After multiple reviews of mine being taken down from Facebook by the owner, it's clear to see that you never really know what's going on at certain places since reviews can be taken down. I notified the manager and the owner of several discrepancies including Boo Boos that did not receive boo boo reports and lost diapers, only for my husband to get a very nasty phone call from the owner. When I went to pick up my children she was very nasty with me also and does not like parents who confront problems involving their children head on. She is always on the defense and the manager does not relay all information to her. The teachers are amazing. read more

When we were searching for a daycare for our first born, we looked at every single school in the area. This was the first school that took the time to answer all our questions, give us a really through tour ( we just dropped in) and felt like a really warm, creative space for a young tot. We didn't put our daughter in daycare until she was 2 years old so we had a lot of concerns and she adjusted really well after only 2 weeks. One of the things we liked was how everything was small and at the children's level, there were plenty of spaces for the children to be creative and in the toddler section, had only a 1 teacher to 6 children ratio, but the children also had the opportunity to play with kids. I also really appreciate the weekly newsletter they send out to parents with the meals, and the activities for the week. read more

The Growing Place is a true learning center. Mrs. Missy helped my son get back on track with his spelling words for school. They have a great balance of activities and learning for school agers. All the other levels always seem so engaged in something whenever I am in the center. Mrs. Angie is very nice to communicate with about different area schools. I know they must think of expanding daily because it's tight quarters but they take care of the kids and teach them. Early mornings or middays the babies are being interacted with. All the staff get to know all the kids not just the kids in their classes. It's really a descent place. I am anti sandbox but my son loves it, tons of positives. Cons: the sandbox :- ( & the stuffy daycare smell some days, but I would attribute that to the size of the facility and they have such for the kids pets, activities, toys, gliders, cribs, library, meal area so yeah I guess it can get stuffy and probably real bad to go during or after diaper change since the babies are 1st room. Honestly though if you need education, secure, kid focused non chain non franchise I would say choose Growing Place! read more

I love it here! My daughter flourishes under the care of the awesome women in the infant room and I have no worries while I'm at work. It's clean, well organized and you can't beat the hands on interactive learning! It's one of those places your child won't want to leave!! read more

We love this place. The teacher to child ratio is great and makes a huge difference. The Huuuuge playground for the kids, the messy room my daughter loves, the people that work there are great- they really seem like a family and treat the kids as part of that family. The infant room has a separate closed off area so the babies can nap in peace and quiet. I really like that for my son, they take great care of him and he loves everyone there. My daughter would never have gotten potty trained without their help, she started there right when she turned three and her vocabulary has gotten leaps and bounds better since being there. It's a smaller facility but I like that, more intimate and not like so many other places nearby where there's 15 kids to one teacher- 30 to one age class. It makes me comfortable that my kids aren't ignored or overlooked by busy teachers- in fact it's the complete opposite- they all know my kids and my kids love them. read more

I was drawn away by the smell, I visited several and not all daycares have this particular "daycare" smell, might be because the building itself seems very small. Also seemed way too busy in there (noise wise) and grew concern that it would overstimulate my child because of how small and close the rooms are to each other despite the low ratios. read more
