Jack and Mike are well worth the call for a re-grouting and re-caulking job. Jack gave an honest estimate, and Mike did incredible work, making a 25 y/o shower look brand new, and tidying up some caulk around our sinks and splash guards. Jack is easy to communicate with by phone or text, and both were a pleasure to have to the work. Just had our kitchen and laundry room re-grouted, adding a new lighter color grout, and then sealed....by Jack "The Grout Man". The floors in both rooms look better than the original install, done 6 years ago. The entire job was handled in a very professional manner, and the follow thru was perfect. Date and time promised, advance calling prior to arrival....and even a follow up call to adjust a 3 extremely small touch up spots were done immediately after the 72 hour dry and cure time passed. Ok,so I was a bit skeptical of someone not pulling up in front of my home in a commercial vehicle/work truck/van.First impressions are everything.In my honest opinion you have to look the part to play the part.Gentleman that showed up was dressed like a slob.Shorts that looked like they were 10 years old and a softball t shirt.Did a fine job on the stone floor in my shower but wasn't prepared.Did not have anywhere to put dirty rags(so I gave him a garbage can)was friendly enough,being a contractor and being in the hvac business,appearance means everything as well as being prepared with the proper tools and materials.Very mixed and kinda disappointed in the professionalism.Also used a brush that looked like it had been used many times before.Sad to say,but probably a one and done. read more

He gave me a detailed explanation of what each thing I needed would entail. He actually came to do my estimate outside his service area. Jack "The Grout Man" was really very good. He came to give an estimate for a service I thought we needed, but it turns out a simple recaulking job would be appropriate. He didn't try to upsell us services we didn't need. He made some suggestions and advised us how to seal the existing grout with something from the hardware store. Rob, the young man who came to do the work, called ahead to say he would be about 15 minutes late, which I appreciated, and he was very personable and did a great job. Everything was left neat and he was done in just about an hour. I'm happy with the work. I didn't plan on writing reviews, but based on the one from 6/10/13 I can't imagine they have the correct company. What a shame. read more

Rob, "The Grout Man" has just completed regrouting & recaulking our shower stall after 16 years of use. It looks better than the day we moved into our home. Rob arrived promptly at 9am and finished at 6pm. He gave instructions on using a grout preservative and offered a one yr warranty. We are extremely pleased. Should any one be thinking of re-tiiing your bathroom, do yourself a favor and call the "Grout Man" before you make the major investment. I would give no stars if I could, Jack was very pleasant and professional when he came and gave me an estimate, however he does not do the work himself. His first employee who came to regrout my shower and bathroom tiles did such a horrendous job, Jack came to my house and saw it for himself and sent another employee to "fix" it. He came and saw how bad the job and said he had to start all over because there was too much bad work to try and fix it. He worked for two days to repair the damage however, he said the owner (Jack) would contact me to finish the job because he was needed on another job and couldn't come back a third day. Well this was months ago, he has never contacted me back, my bathroom is not useable and worst of all I had paid his first worker who told me everything was fine and that once the haze settled I would see a perfect bathroom. My mistake, I should not have trusted him but I felt bad because he had a death in the family and had to leave and I was just too trusting. This was not a small job I paid over $1400 for this work! My bathroom looks like a kid did the work. My sink is ruined from the grout he left in the sink (both the workers and Jack could not get it clean.) I have grout missing in numerous places in my shower and floor. The kicker, the first worker also broke the tile going into my shower, claimed it was put on wrong to begin with (well I never had a problem for the 15 years it was there but still, I also have no tile in the entrance of my shower. Jack said he would contact someone to fix this issue but when he couldn't get someone right away I said just have your guy put the tile back until it can be fixed. Well guess what, his worker threw the tile away so he could not put it back! I can show photos of my unable to use bathroom to back up my statements. I kick myself because my grout was discolored and I am very fussy so I wanted it to look new and clean. Hence I called The Grout Man who said it would be perfect, no worries... My bathroom will never be the same, I'm sick over the whole situation and worst of all the owner did nothing to finish what his worker destroyed. It will probably cost me another $1400 to re-do the job the right way. Where is the accountability, I will also be contacting the BBB and Angie's list who recommended them to me. read more

My husband and I are very pleased with The Grout Man. Jack was EXCELLENT.. returned every phone call. When he came to our house, he was on time and extremely professional. Jack's prices are very fair. I first thought of re-grouting my entire kitchen floor.. which Jack was happy to do. But after Jack took a look at the floor, he advised me that all it really needed was the deep cleaning and stain (which would also save me $$ and mess). He was right!! I am so happy that we did not re-grout!! The floor looks beautiful and cost us less. When Michael came (who actually did the labor) he took off his shoes at the door!!! I have a honed limestone floor which is difficult to clean even without the 4 kids and the dogs/cats. I've used other services that use large commercial steamers, but was seeing less and less improvement with each cleaning. The Grout Man was recommended by a tile professional so I gave them a try. I was a little nervous that they use a smaller steamer and most work is hand-scrubbed. Jack was very upfront to manage my expectations when quoting as he knew these floors are difficult to clean. He offered various options if I wasn't pleased with no pushy upselling. The price was fair and in-line with previous companies I've used. Michael who did the work was respectful and interested in ensuring the job was the best it could be. He offered great advice to help keep the floors clean between professional cleanings and the floors looked better than they ever had with the large commercial steamer companies. I would not recommend Jeff from The Grout Man. His business approach to giving estimates is "I have to cover my $7,000 a month advertising cost". He came to my house to give an estimate on grouting my bath tub and my tile floors. His coupons are worthless because be jacks up the cost to "cover his advetising cost"! He looked at my tile floor and said he didn't know how long it would take to remove the grout so therefore he would have to charge me $100.00 an hour. When he got to my house he started to do it and said he wasn't sure how long it would take. So I said to try the job and see how it goes. Then like 5 minutes later he said the same thing to me. He told me to get someone for $10.00 an hour to remove the grout and then he would come back to put the down and make it look pretty. So I felt like he was NOT able to do or handle the job and was looking for a way out. He is not what he "advertises" himself to be. He cannnot handle problem jobs!!
