We have used TGC for a few years to do fall cleanup without issue, and frankly great results, until this year. If you value doing business with a trustworthy and honest company I would advise extreme caution when hiring TGC. We were scheduled to have fall clean up performed on November 11th. As I write this we have a yard full of leaves under the snow that will likely result in significant or total ruin of our yard! We received 6-8 emails saying that there was a delay but we would be serviced. My wife and I called TGC multiple times between the 11th-25th and were met with empty promises that we would be serviced. I can't attest to the quality of this years, 2025, fall clean up since we never received the service. The infuriating part is that throughout the last 3 weeks we could have hired another service or performed fall cleanup ourself but TGC consistently insured that we would be serviced. We trusted TGC to deliver and yet they never did. I don't know if it was pure greed, dishonesty, or complete incompetence but our yard is likely destroyed because of these false promises!!! - We live in the west metro of Minneapolis read more

I paid for an entire season upfront because it was more cost-effective, and I hoped it would provide me with peace of mind. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a massive mistake. Each time they came out, they did not complete the job; they left large sections of areas covered by the contract untouched (e.g., the driveway and sidewalk). Instead of properly clearing the snow, they pushed it against my garage door and my trash and recycling bins. Time and time again, I would call or email to ask them to finish the job, sometimes even sending them pictures as evidence. Their response was always the same: an apology, a promise to do better next time, and assurance that someone would come out to complete the job soon. However, it never happened. They would either come back out but still not finish the job, or they would wait until the next snow event to respond, making the situation even worse. They seem indifferent to customer satisfaction; it appears they only care about getting paid. I would never hire this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone I care about. TGC's service is outstanding - said based on not so gr8 'service' from other companies! Their crews are thorough & perfectly equipped for the job - whether lawn care or snow removal. And - the responsiveness of the office staff is fast, reliable & fully answers whatever is asked of them. They never fail to let customers know in advance what to expect in service & timing re pending forecasts. And respond quickly to even the smallest requests. We have used the grounds crew for fall cleanup the past few years. Last year a crew of two came to take care of the leaves. They spent less than the minimum of two hours to complete the job. This year a crew of three showed up. They took longer and of course went over the minimum time. Last year $380 this year almost $500. Same base rate per worker. Not happy. read more

This past Summer/Fall The Grounds Crew did a reasonable, if somewhat average job of completing my lawn care needs. A few times they did not have sufficient staff to do my mowing so it went two weeks. No big problems. Imagine my surprise when the snowstorm hit just before Thanksgiving and there's was no service. Being on a monthly contract, I was told that they would plow within 12 hours of the end of the snowfall. Instead, more than 20 hours later they came and did ONLY my front steps and city sidewalk, no work on the driveway at all. After many different contacts, they finally got back to me with apologies. The very next storm was more of same, with no work done, spotty communication, and finally a big email about all their crews were walking off the job, etc. Long story short, when they finally did get there my entire walk from the garage to side door of my House was undone, then I received a message saying it was undone because at $300 per month it was not part of my contract. My property is small, and that seemed ridiculous and overpriced. Right after that, I got a call from a staff who started out by scolding me for using multiple portals of communication to them. At that point I said I did not feel I should be lectured on how I'd tried to contact them when they had only just started contacting me. He then proceeded to start yelling at me, saying he was not in the business of "taking abuse". I replied that I was not abusing anyone, that I felt abused at this point, thanked him for calling me and hung up. I think he called back (who knows why) but at that point I did not answer, found someone else to do my snow, and cancelled my contract. Truly, this is one of the most negative, unprofessional experiences I've had with any company and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid them. Poor to non existent work, terrible customer service. This company is the worst ever. We contracted for snow plowing service this past October. The service included extras as well - we paid for the season in advance. Our first clue that things were not good was when they billed us for staking the driveway - when we called to say the work had not been done, they were surprised and said they'd credit and get the work done. several days later the driveway was staked and we were billed $45.00. Then over the course of a few snowstorms, they never showed up, even after we called to let them know. Finally, in mid-January, we called to cancel their contract... after a lot of arguing and excuses on their part, they agreed to refund 1/3 of our payment. Apparently, this company believes they should be paid for doing absolutely nothing. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!! We paid for the 2022/23 plowing season ahead of time and they never show up. They bill for salting that never takes place. I am considering legal action and planning to report them to the BBB an any thing else I can to stop them from defrauding the public. read more

Hired these guys for weekly mowing starting in June of 2018, with a scheduled mow day of Fridays. With rainouts and holidays mowing gets pushed back, which is normal, but typically not an entire week. They did a good job when they showed up, but were unresponsive to communications, and have not been to my property going on 12 days now. Switched providers. read more

Don't hire this company! Took an entire day off for the Grounds Crew to come to my home to lay some mulch and do a little landscaping as previously they had been out to give me an estimate and make the appointment. They never showed up! I called and was given the run around, no apologies no nothing, at the end of the conversation the guy lied and "well you weren't home". What kind of company is this? Trying to find a snow plowing service that would also take the extra step to shovel my sidewalk was not an easy task until I found Charlie and The Grounds Crew. Not only did they do a great job with my fall cleaning and saved me many days of lawn/ leaf raking but are now keeping my driveway, sidewalk and mailbox clear of the snow.
