The first time I caught it and returned it. The second i could use 3 of the 4 pieces Also when Ive been in the store I have looked at the expiration dates and they are at least 2-3 days if not more past due This saddens me as I prefer to support local smaller stores but I'm starting to feel like I need to shop elsewhere if I continue to experience this Not sure the reason for this recent decline in the meat department but hopefully it can be corrected

Years ago, I used to shop at Farm Boy in Peterborough during my university days at Trent and loved…read moreit. Randomly stopping here a couple of weeks ago while visiting family in my homedown, I rediscovered the brand. For those familiar with Trader Joe's in the States, I would say this store is very close to that level of awesome-ness. Well laid out and lots of "healthier" and organic options. We have tried a few of their store made products including their fresh salsas (try the pineapple one - its amazing!), pizza and pasta sauces. Love how you can find brands here you can't find anywhere else (at least to my knowledge). They have a separate meat counter, deli counter, and prepared foods section along with a large produce area as well. You can even pick up beer and flowers here - a one stop shop! We now make a point of shopping for the week here before we leave town when visiting my family. Can't wait until we get a Farm Boy in our neck of the woods (aka Toronto)!

There were wooden crates in front of the display empty except for the top one which had the same rotten beans in it. I saw what I thought was an employee from the produce section and I said "your beans are rotten." His reply was " a lot of them in there are". Why would a store like Farm Boy dish up the last of their rotten beans instead of discarding them. I was very disappointed that a store that prides itself on its produce would actually charge for rotten beans let alone expect people to buy them.

I love the assortment of pre-prepared and refrigerated foods like shrimp skewers, scones from St Anne's, charcuterie, butter tarts, hot sauces, fresh bread, locally roasted coffee, and the list goes on! I must confess that we only ended up buying a couple of Melinda's bottles of PEC made lavender bergamot lotion ($17 each, which smelled better than any of the lotions I tested at the lavender farm) but had we not been running late for dinner, we probably would have purchased more in the way of food items. I can't comment on the service like the last Yelp reviewer since ours was limited to the purchase transaction. Conveniently they have tables on the front porch. A few people purchased charcuterie and jams and bread from the Agrarian Market and were enjoying them with cold alcoholic beverages purchased from the adjacent LCBO. Because of the selection of high quality products offered and the overall shopping atmosphere and experience, I can see myself stopping by here again while in the area.
