It's a wooden coaster that goes at a good clip and has some nice dips. I love it. But don't wear your sunglasses. I lost a cheap pair once.

California's Great America - Bavarian cream and regular churro from Churro Factory

I had to show our favorite theme park some love before they close next season. (insert tears here)…read more Great America has given our family so many wonderful memories over the years... We are truly so disheartened that they are planning to turn this cite into more housing after next season. *** Please write to the Santa Clara mayor to try to Save Great America! *** The property is supposed to be designated to entertainment so they shouldn't even be able to convert the land into housing in the first place! Some major city corruption on every level is clearly going on. Back to the happy... My daughter just turned 10 and we made a point to ride every coaster in the park. I would love it if I could do the same with my son in a few short years. I'm sure many families must feel the same way about Great America. We need a theme park to keep some fun in the Bay Area.

I also visited on the 4th of July to celebrate a 50th birthday, which made the day feel extra special. It was a cool experience overall and definitely brought back some childhood memories. That said, I can also see why the park is on its way out. The whole place feels much more geared toward really young kids -- around 12 and under. My daughter has outgrown most of the rides, so there wasn't as much for her to enjoy. The upside was that the lines were pretty short, which was nice. There were a few things I didn't love, like some of the overcharged pay-to-play rides, but the food prices were actually reasonable and the gift shops were fun to browse. The worst part of the day was the parking situation. It was extremely disorganized and chaotic -- no clear line structure, multiple closures, and no one directing traffic in a meaningful way. I ended up stuck in the parking lot along with a lot of other frustrated guests for over two hours. That alone almost ruined the whole experience. Overall, I had a nice time reliving some old memories, but the park definitely has some major operational issues. If you're going for nostalgia or have younger kids, it might be worth it -- just be prepared for potential parking headaches.

The restroom was nice and clean. I didn't try any food or play any games so my review is based off of my 13 year olds reaction. He enjoyed it so much we found another go kart place in Reno while we were there and took him to that one too!

Unfortunately we only had 7 so we couldn't do the 8 person reservation. I called to get info about wait times (I understand that they can't give me an exact estimate so I told them give me worse case scenario) and I was advised that the group of 7 could have some long wait times so we opted to just come up with 3 of us. Upon arrival, place was dead other than 2-3 staff members within sight. We asked the individual behind the counter some basic questions being first timers at that location, we ended up purchasing 2 races and we received 1 for free because it was Tuesday and that was just a deal they had. After they took our money they said "well it could be about 30 minutes until you all race" which we responded saying that it's totally fine we will hangout thank you. Well since we had 30 minutes to kill why not buy some arcade credits and mess around (very mediocre arcade at best). After we purchased arcade credits, about 15 minutes went buy another employee came up to us to let us know that if we wanted to race we would have to wait till about 4:45-5pm because a group rented out the facility and there's just nothing they can do. Keep in mind when we purchased our races, 2:23pm to be exact, we got told 30 minutes. Somehow between multiple phone calls to confirm before the long drive and the day of upon arrival purchasing our races not a single individual let us know about this possible booking. ALSO no we did not show up before this group event, they were already there. Which in their defense the employee giving us a refund said "well we are not allowed to tell people about bookings". Great totally understandable I run a business my self and I understand private information etc. however the lying of race times, letting us wait for a bit and following up with "if you don't take the refund we will give you 2 extra races" well thanks but I find it hard to believe we got the full reasoning behind the situation... also to add more context, no we weren't those customers causing issues, being overly loud, or causing any sort of issues. Civilized beings and in return got a pretty S*** end of the stick. K1 speed its self is great but this location is ran by some individuals that have zero interest in making the experience rememberable. K1s slogan "Arrive and Drive" they have printed on their business cards left out crucial information. Arrive and drive past. Keep your money and spend it with a business that will give you the proper attention. Not asking to be treated like royalty. Just some common decency.

You have to make a reservation I'm guessing so it doesn't get overpacked. As soon as you enter, there's a ton of indoor activities for the little. There's a dino area right outside and then on the other side is where the zoo part is. There's not a ton of animals but the animals that are there were pretty active when we were there. There was a tortoise, birds, rabbits, fish, flamingos that we actually got to feed and a few others that I'm forgetting. Again, not huge but it was enough that we probably spent about a good 2 hours there. After that, there's also a park right behind it so if your kiddos aren't tired already, they can burn off some energy there. If we lived closer, I would consider getting a pass but for now, we'll do some day trips there

During my first visit in May 2026, the admission was $14 per ticket for both an adult and toddler for the 10:00 a.m. reservation. If you're planning a birthday celebration or picnic, there are first-come, first-served tables at Rinconada Park next door. Venue The Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo is exactly that - it's a smaller, toddler-friendly museum and zoo. Plan to visit for an estimated 1.5 - 2 hours, as this should be plenty of time to explore everything. There are both indoor and outdoor experiences, including interactive activities for little ones, an outdoor zoo, complimentary flamingo feeding sessions, and a treehouse-style playground. Animals available included meerkats, flamingos, raccoons, fish, a tortoise, and macaws. Location / Parking The museum is right next to Rinconada Park and there's a dedicated parking lot. It can fill up quickly during popular reservation times and street parking is also available nearby. Customer Service The front desk staff scans admission tickets upon arrival and provides a stamp for in-and-out privileges, which is helpful if you plan to visit the neighboring Rinconada Park.
