There aren't that many great places to eat and drink in Peterborough, and I should know as I was brought up there.
My dad, who plays golf regularly, thinks this is as good a pub as any in the local area, and I tend to agree (though I must admit I haven't tried all of the newer places as I moved out long ago). They have an annoying policy about no children in the bar area, yet they don't stop childless families from taking up space in the restaurant bit - so you can find yourself stuck. In fact we once had to leave, even though my dad has been a regular for 30 years, as the only tables were in the bar area and they wouldn't let us sit there (we had my son with us). So not the greatest flexibility in their service. Their fish and chips is quite nice though. read more
