Love this place - love these people. The Zendo is one block from the Gateway Mall…read more I visited four sanghas before settling here and have attended ~12 times (driving up from Utah County). There are new people every week, and the environment's open, inclusive, and enjoyable. It doesn't matter if you've never meditated before. On Sunday afternoon, we usually sit for about 25 minutes (cushions or chairs provided), break for coffee & tea for a bit, and then listen to an Integral dharma talk from the Sensei, Diane Musho Hamilton. It's just a lovely experience. On Tuesdays her husband and Sensei, Michael Mugaku Zimmerman, dives into Zen practice in a more academic way. You won't find two more centered, caring individuals. There are lots of options for the practice that I haven't attended due to my distance, like morning sits. See http://bouldermountainzendo.org/ As for logistics, park in the lot south of the ArtSpace Building. After entering the building, walk down the open-air hallway to get to the lobby. Dress is casual--yoga pants or jeans; it doesn't matter.

5 stars ‼ If you…read moredidn't know, this crystal recently moved locations and became a crystal shop AND a cafe!! If you're looking for a little magic with your morning coffee, Sacred Energy Crystal, Coffee, & Cafe is your new go-to spot! This place is an absolute gem (pun intended). First off, the espresso drinks are so reasonably priced--finally a spot where you don't need to pay $8 for a decent latte. I grabbed an oat milk cappuccino and it was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. But the real star of the menu? The Amethyst Matcha. It's this fun, dreamy-looking lavender matcha latte that tastes as good as it looks--lightly sweet, super creamy, and totally Instagram-worthy. Food-wise, everything I tried was delicious. The avocado toast ($9.99) is next-level (topped with a fried egg and balsamic glaze), and the Big Dipper burger ($13.99) was amazing. They clearly put love and intention into their ingredients. The cafe opens early at 7:00am, which is perfect for early birds like me. The crystal shop at the front opens a bit later at 9:00am, and it's a total vibe--tons of beautiful stones, incense, and energy tools to browse while sipping your drink. It's like getting a mini spiritual reset with your coffee. Not only does this place have coffee, food, and an incredible crystal shop, they also have Hape ceremony's, Yoga, and more upstairs. Which I believe you sign up for online. I came in on a Sunday morning and all the staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance is cozy with just the right amount of woo-woo. Highly recommend stopping by--whether you're into crystals or just want a damn good matcha.
