Today tho I had the worse experience of my life the employer Heather was extremely rude and didn't wanted to answer my questions I am always try to be nice with everyone but when I asked to talked with manager because she refuse to call her , she was aggressive and rude just not kindness at all beware of rude Employers . I will never do business with this place I better spend my money somewhere else. Great place for your plants/flowers/anything for your home, inside and outside! All employees are very knowledgeable about anything for your landscaping design! They have large selection of annuals and always great choices of perennials, too. The Greenery has grown and expanded several times in the 24 years we've lived in the area, which speaks volumes for their knowledgeable, friendly staff. Poor customer service equals lost customers! I always prefer to patronize locally owned places, and this was my go-to nursery. I moved here last summer and bought a lime plant from them for nearly $50. I spoke at length with the worker at the time to make sure I knew how to plant it and care for it, as I'd never had a citrus plant before. She told me just what the instructions on the plant read, and I followed it precisely. The plant, it read, was supposed to grow 20-30 feet tall and wide - wow! Well, it didn't make it through the winter, so we took it back over the weekend to get a replacement or a credit, if they didn't have another available. They refused! The employee said it was for "tropical climates only." Why did they sell them, then? Was I supposed to drive to Key West and plant it there? She added that we were "supposed to bring it in for the winter". Mind you, this was not a little plant in a planter; this was a big OUTDOOR plant that required planting. They sold a product that apparently shouldn't have been sold in this area (why???), provided incorrect guidance, not to mention the written instructions that came with the plant we followed to a "t". There was no note on the plant reading, "Don't follow these written instructions unless you're going to plant farther south." I could go on, but let's just say the employee had quite an attitude and would offer no recourse. Their not standing by their product cost me $50 and them much more in lost business. A simple I'm sorry and a credit or alternate plant would've kept me a happy customer. It's sad that Lowe's will now get my business, but they stand by their guarantees. read more

This place is dangerous for we. I live less than a mile away and love indoor and outdoor plants. I love their selections (most are from Monrovia however others are sourced from local growers). I was actually able to find some Satsuki Azaleas (I had them in Virginia but never was able to find new plants, they were well over 40 years old and couldn't bring them), a fruiting olive, and some house plants. The staff was unbelievably rude regarding wearing a mask. Tone, decency and common courtesy is needed in times like these., Especially when you make a special trip from out of town to visit. I have never experienced such a demeaning and abrasive tone from any business like I did here, literally in the first 15 seconds of walking into the door. No chance to discuss any further, just cut off and absolutely rude. There were a million other ways this young lady could've introduced herself and communicated. Impressed! They had a Golden Rain Tree I couldn't locate at five other local nurseries or Home Depot & Lowe's. Fair price too!

This place is amazing! It is so much bigger than it looks from the exterior. They have everything that I will ever need for my gardening projects. There are a ton of different trees, bushes, flowers, soil, herbs, pots, garden decorations, and furniture. And if they don't happen to have what you're looking for, they'll get it for you. All the staff that we have encountered are very friendly and helpful. If you're planning to get a bunch of stuff, make sure you get one of their flat bed carts to haul your stuff around. Once you've filled up your cart with everything you need, grab one of the many friendly staff and they will write up your bill. While you go pay at the cashier, they will take your cart to one of the doors where you can pull up with your car/truck. When you're ready, they'll also help you load everything. They also sell soil by the yard, you'll just need a truck for them to pour it into. And they deliver locally, which can be very helpful, particularly with the trees. I wanted to bring everything home with us, but of course that's not possible. We ended up deciding on some azalea bushes, a baby lemon tree, and basil. I have been shopping with The Greenery for years and decided to spend a perfect fall afternoon there. As usual, it was very pleasant and full of surprises. I was in search of fall mums and they were available in several sizes and colors, just beginning to show color and very healthy plants. Instant decorating for my porch! I fell in love with a planter that will be perfect in a large flower bed. The staff helped me make plant selections so it will have the "wow factor" that area needs. They seemed to be excited to help me and gave me tips to keep the arrangement looking its best. They had new arrivals of camellias, my favorites, now I'm trying to make decisions since this is a great time of the year to plant. The greenhouses were amazing with house plants you don't often see and friendly advice even if you don't have a green thumb. I always save the home store for last, it's like the icing on the cake! I found fall wreaths and candles and a lamp, just because there's nothing like a great lamp. The home store always inspires and the ladies there are happy to offer ideas for decorations to transition the seasons. I can't wait to see their Christmas designs! Make a trip to the Greenery. It's worth the trip at anytime of the year and always nice to "shop local" with a true, local, family business right here in Big Cove! read more
