Somewhat fuzzy, but this is the monk (non-Greek, interestingly) with beer in his belly.

The Greeks Next Door has a great, though slightly limited selection-- there are a good amount of Belgian brews and even some harder to find beers like Rodenbach. Local beers are also featured well, which was a plus, but the place could be bigger overall. The location is great, too. It's right next to the bar for which it's named and it's more convenient than some other distributors. The character inside is great-- there's a large statue of a monk (though he isn't Greek?), who stores beer in his belly. It gave me a laugh. The prices are all very reasonable and if you "mix six," as I call it (make your six pack), you get ten percent off of the bill. The staff is quite friendly and knowledgeable-- in short, good people to chat with about beer or whatever. Awesome place and definitely worth the visit!

A mix and match I picked up on St. Patrick's day.

This is the best you're going to get in PA. Great selection of beer, better prices than other bottle shops, and half price growler Mondays!

Big selection of bottled beer in the retail section, great draft beer selection in the bar.

Awesome beer shop. My husband loves this place. A bit pricey, but amazing selection and a friendly staff.

However, after watching a…read morecouple of Instagram posts by a food influencer who raved about it, I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I saw the bar area. Further down is the dining area and an outdoor dining area on the side. I was surprised by how cute and romantic the main dining room is. Menu is very small. Our waitress was very helpful with giving us recommendations. Clams: it was suggested our waitress and she was right. It has green herb broth that makes it special. The complimentary bread is a perfect vehicle to soak it up. Roasted mushroom: I love the umami from the broth. Salad: I've never seen a salad served like this, it looks like a centerpiece for a table. Leaves of lettuce are stacked up beautifully like a floral arrangement with perfect amount of dressing. Definitely check it out. Chocolate pudding: it has a slight taste of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. It is surprisingly balanced with three cherries that add more sweetness. The cheesecake is another great dessert. Creamy with thick graham cracker crust topped with cherries. The cheesecake and the cherries aren't very sweet. The sweetness comes from the graham cracker crust. Outstanding. Their beer is enjoyable too. My husband and our guest like them a lot. I had the zero percent Guinness and it is really good.

It looked like everyone else was there to eat. We got the Morning Swim. It is a nice clean crisp pale ale. We got an Old Fashion. It was very tasty and NOT ridiculously over priced. Since everyone else was eating we got the Roasted Oyster Mushroom (V). They were not what I was expecting but they were done very nicely. I'm thinking this a dinner or happy hour place that the whole neighborhood walks to. TheCheesesteakLife.com - Your home for everything cheesesteak.
