So excited to finally go to The Great Junk Hunt in Costa Mesa, California!! I've had it on my list of things to do for years!! Ugh. Definitely NOT what I was expecting. Literally no "junk" as we had hoped, it was more overpriced vintage (or vintage-like) items and pricy crafted crap. Several vendors had exactly the same thing. Really disappointing! We had to pay for parking, plus we had to pay for tickets. We paid for the tickets online but nobody EVER asked for our ticket. Didn't even see anyone who was taking them or looking for them. We just walked right in! Money wasted. We only stopped to look in maybe 3 "shops" and we did purchase a wooden magnet because it had the perfect saying on it for a friend. But honestly, I would have found it anywhere. Best part of the day was the company I was with and the hot pretzel from one of the food vendors outside the event center. Boo. Never again. read more

I visited the Great Junk Hunt in Monroe, WA last weekend. I had read the reviews and social media posts complaining about crowds, so I waited until 11 on Saturday to go. It was a bit crowded, but I had no problem getting into the different stalls to look at merchandise - the lines to pay were short. I loved the home decor products, plants, jewelry, and clothes, and I came home with some fun finds. They had a coffee truck and food trucks. Parking was free and close. I had a great experience, so I'm planning on going back when they're in Puyallup later this month. read more

The event held at the state fairground in Indianapolis was not as advertised, over priced, not much repurposed items, a group of us took off early, paid to enter early at 4 pm to find out that too many tickets had been sold and it was sooooo..... crowded that we could barely walk down an isle and was agitated by the high traffic and had to leave because we could barely move around Since this time I've read the reviews at other states and it's the same exact thing This company seems to be getting money by vendor booth rental and high volume of ticket sales and not by the repurposed, vintage items and fun event they advertise I do not recommend attending this event !!!! read more

Went to the Tampa Fairgrounds Event. Small venue for price paid. Plus we had to pay for parking. We went through it in a bit over an hour. Most of the vendors were dealers. Lots of clothes. Not much "junk" at all. Never again. read more

What a disappointment. There was no junk, this basically was a glitter grandma retreat, nothing vintage or junk or curated. People drunk by 10am, the music so loud you could talk to the person beside you. And just white washed, farm house crap, and pretty sure most was from Temu. This "Hunt" costs $ to park and more $ to enter. I was pleasantly surprised by their having "fair food" vendors on the way from the ticket booth to the entrance. I regularly frequent thrift stores and estate sales locally and had never been to a hunt before so I was really looking forward to it but had this gut feeling that everything was going to be overpriced. I really hoped it wasn't. The place was packed. I use a mobility scooter and tried looking at things but the booths' are set up in such a way that a mobility scooter cannot go through. Over all. All the items I got my eyes on were expensive and no way was I going to spend that much on items I can get elsewhere for less. Granted, there are a lot of things that are one-of-a-kind stuff that might be worth the cost, but I wouldn't qualify the majority of it as such. The only thing I brought home was kettle corn and a corn dog in my stomach. read more

In Del Mar, we went on the opening day at the earliest time by purchasing more expensive tickets. When we added our parking fee, we figured it was pretty expensive, but we thought that there would be a great selection and solid prices to offset the initial expenditure. Sadly, not so. They greatly oversold the number of early bird tickets, so the crowd was pretty overwhelming. It was difficult to move through the masses. Over and over again, I found myself waiting with several other patrons for others to leave a booth before I was able to enter it. And-I mean LOADS of people waiting to enter with me. What a crush!!! Many of the booths had the same offerings, and I didn't see anything that was very unique or anything even approaching a good deal. If you enjoy flannel cowboy shirts stitched with white lace, plastic wreaths that you could more cheaply purchase at Target, or ho-hum white candles, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, you would do better to go to the Long Beach or Rose Bowl flea markets for much better deals and much more unique items. I would recommend that the organizers put a cap on the early-bird tickets and make an effort to diversify their vendors. read more

I went to the Great Junk Hunt in Del Mar last Saturday, March 1, 2025. My intention was just to go with a group of girlfriends, have fun, grab lunch, and just look around. I had no intention really on buying anything. Not sure what happened but I bought the most out of all the girls. ‍ It was so much fun! Custom made hand bags matching wallets from Napa Valley California. Heavenly scented body spray oils. So many treasures... too much to mention. I have been a vendor there at the Roseville show since 2023. It is the best Vintage/antique show that I have done in years. I have vintage and vintage inspired treasures (Curated Junk) and keep my prices low to make my customers happy and for an empty load on the way home. It's a waste of money for sure! They charge anywhere from $10-$20 for entry depending on when you go and another $10 for parking. Just so you can enter the event. There are several stores and marketplaces open year round that mimic this exact event that you can shop at for free entry. Plus, those stores have more than this market did. Definitely not worth the money. read more

This is so not handicap friendly in Nashville. I went in Spring but unfortunately this weekend I was on knee scooter. The city of Nashville should make sure set ups require open access to concrete walkways that are there. I saw a gentleman fall with his rollator trying to get from grass onto walkways. Nice but pricey. Only one vendor was rude but others super nice. Shout out to Susan from Old So and So who is always friendly. Others not so much. Customers all nice and considerate. read more

Attended the recent Great Junk Hunt in Ventura for the first time and found it to be an overall disappointment. Parking was $10 and tickets ranged from $10 - $20. All of the vendors and merchandise lived up to the name of the event. There are several great antique markets in the Ventura area that are worthy and would be grateful for the business. None charge for parking or to enter their stores and marketplaces. read more

Had to pay $15 to park, another $20 just to get in. Crowded, too many carts and strollers to even get close to the vendors. The few (and I mean 3) in the whole place I cared to look at were overpriced. Ran into a few men enjoying a beer and they said it, too, was overpriced and they were leaving. The restroom line was 20 minutes long (women's) and one attendant working the show escorted a young lady, fully capable of waiting, to the front of the line. Meanwhile, a mother with her ill daughter was waiting in line, so I took the opportunity to move them to the front - for a legitimate reason. Left after 20 minutes, no purchase, with a vow to never return. "Junk Hunt" is misleading. Nothing in the place under $20, including cheaply made, painted metal plant stakes. read more

Very disappointing, nothing more than a a pricey antique mall that cost $20 to park and $20 to get in, save your time and money and go to local thrift shops and estate sales. All the vendors are professional sellers that look the same as high-end antique shops. Don't go by Facebook reviews and comments as the event organizer removes comments they don't like. read more
