We need to support these bookstores. Let them know what you want and they might hear you for next time. I liked the cards and other items they had in stock too. Its great to pick up before you make a decision. Right now I have a few books in my 'to read pile' and once those are finished I will come back here for some more. That ended up not being what I browsed, though. I went over to their small but sufficient record selection. They had top albums and artists, like Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life. I kept looking and looking and found The Internet's Ego Death for $32. Yep, found what I needed and almost left but checking out their used albums they had Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d city and Drake's Views for about $27 or $28 each. Idk what a good used album price is really going for these days, but I was happy with my selection, went to the counter and checked out. I can't really say much for service because I was in and out so quickly and there didn't appear to be many employees, which I get that these days.

Their social media is a reflection of their opinions and values as a news outlet, which appear to be faltering. This decline is not only disappointing but also concerning, as it suggests a shift away from the professionalism expected of a reputable news organization. I have noticed troublesome posts for some time and today I called them out on an issue of labeling women out on the town as "wildlife", which others called them out on too - then my and other's comments expressing concern were deleted and I was immediately blocked. Their "about us" states that "we promise to maintain high standards of transparency, disclosure, and civility on our pages and want our users to know their opinions and ideas are respected and always appreciated" ... "help build an online community we can be proud of and improve on together". I hope they behave this way moving forward. The community would like to be able to hold a local channel in high regard, and it is imperative to uphold this trust with the highest standard of news dissemination and respect for others in the community that they serve. I also appreciate that they have masks available if needed and offer them proactively. On top of that, they provide free drug testing kits, like fentanyl test strips -- which is so vital, especially with the spike in fentanyl overdoses and contaminations in recreational substances. It's just really nice to see that kind of care in the community. The range of books is massive -- both new and used. The selection of new books is decent, but the used book selection (and price) is phenomenal. They also have a whimsical collection of bookmarks, stickers, and random stationery, which is super charming. Honestly, it's just a really solid bookstore. The first time I visited, I'm pretty sure I spent like two and a half hours just browsing all the sections I was interested in -- and there were so many. Lots on religion and spirituality, metaphysics, physics, psychology, cookbooks, music, art, fashion -- so many topics that caught my eye. I took my time and walked out with maybe $125 worth of books and oracle cards, which was such a joy. They also have a book exchange policy where you can trade in books for store credit, but you need to make an appointment to do so. However, I also live in Pleasant Hill and I appreciate the options and well written advice that Diablo Magazine provides out here in the Burbs. It's also much cheaper to be a subscriber and I anxiously look forward to its monthly delivery in my home mail box.

It has happened!
