I very rarely like never give a one star on a business but when it comes to a business repeatedly disappointing me, scamming me, ripping me off, and me foolishly giving many, many opportunities to redeem themselves after false promises due to the staff being so stoned and miserable bare minimum doers that can't Complete basic tasks like use a register, have any knowledge about the products they sell, or even the time to pay attention and greet every potential buyer when one enters their establishment because they're goofing off, hiding in the back office, or decide to greet the younger person who enters after you. This place is run by a bunch of dingbats who will sell you the wrong thing just to shut you up when you're trying to figure out what you do need to buy. If it all possible go anywhere else from here because another thing they do is depending who you are or who you were speaking to within one visit you'll be told different prices and offer different discounts even though the deal of the day is clearly published but they don't give it to everybody. I am absolutely done. Definitely go elsewhere where not every single person that works here seems to be a manager that knows nothing and the business itself doesn't even have an email address; "be lazy & do the less than minimum" is the mission statement of this business.

I…read morestarted by going to the one at 1602 NW 6th St. because it was right across the street from where I got my car windows tinted. The staff there were attentive and extremely helpful. I bought a replacement bowl for a water pipe of mine. I travel a lot and break a lot of bowls. As a matter of fact, I broke the one I bought at Smokeville and wentback for a replacement but they no longer had them and suggested I try their new store located at 1122 W. University Ave. I did but they didn't seem to have a bowl that would work either so I ended up at their 3rd location which is by Oak Mall at 7327 NW 4th Blvd. That is where I met the woman who would solve my problem. Nicki has worked for Smokeville for 3 years and knows their inventory very well. When I got there, she listened to my dilemma and suggested that I bring my water pipe to the Smokeville on University Ave. after 1 pm. Apparently she works until noon at the one on 4th Blvd then she works from 1 until 6 pm at the Smokeville on University Ave. which is closer to where I live. I went home, grabbed my water pipe and headed over to the newest Smokeville at 1122 W. University Ave. Nicki was there and recognized me right away and told me she would be right with me. That alone impressed me because she knew I had been to all 3 Smokevilles and wanted to acknowledge me so I could relax knowing she was going to help me. She asked if I had brought my water pipe and after examining it, she walked over to a locked glass case, unlocked it and began searching for a solution. She found an adapter that would fit my water pipe and connect to the exact bowl that I liked! The problem I had for 6 months was resolved in about a half hour by someone who knew her products and how they work. Nicki also answered many questions I had regarding the inventory I saw displayed. What a wonderful yet simple conclusion to a problem I had since purchasing the water pipe 6 months prior in Tampa. I highly recommend all three Smokevilles in Gainesville for the excellent service, knowledgeable staff and the volume of products they have for sale.

Blu Crystal is AMAZING!…read more Not only was I immediately welcomed and introduced to one of the workers there, Lovely Linda (as I will now refer to her), but she and I had a wonderful conversation about Gainesville's crystal shops and local businesses and our own personal practices. She answered all of my questions without being condescending like other places can be, and treated me with respect, which is something I commonly don't receive right away at other establishments (age, appearance, piercings, etc.). They had a fantastic supply of herbs, crystals, incense, talismans, oils, and even clothes, tarot decks, jewelry, etc. The herbs in particular were of an impressive variety compared to other stores around town, are sold are in multiple sizes to suit however much you may need. I was accidentally charged twice for an obsidian bracelet and rang the store back to figure out a refund, and Lovely Linda immediately met my needs over the phone so that I didn't have to go back in. She was very patient and understanding throughout the short process. The crystals specifically tend to run a little expensive, but I think that it's more than worth the price to keep this business going so that other people may find what they are looking for as well. I will be a very frequent customer from now on! (And for those interested, the store also has a Tarot reader on hand-- I think-- every day, if not, very often.)
