I was lucky enough enough to secure an appointment with Shai. To be completely honest, as I walked to her chair- I thought to myself, "What are you doing?!" It was such a risk cutting my hair the day before my wedding by someone who had never touched my hair before. Shai quickly put me at ease. SHE IS INCREDIBLE. She listened to what I wanted, assessed my hair and was very clear in what she recommended. She gave me the most incredible haircut. My hair is now in bouncy bob with movement and I could not be happier. She gave me exactly what I wanted without me even knowing this is what I wanted. The salon is very clean and calm and has plenty of parking. They also have great hours and I believe even offer appointments on Mondays. Thank you SHAI, I can't wait to come see you again!!!

I finally wanted to take the time to leave a review because my latest haircut turned out so beautifully. I'm known to go quite a while between haircuts, so I tend to end up cutting off more length than I originally intended. This time, I'm growing my hair out and wanted to keep more of the length while still having a beautiful shape. Yvette understood exactly what I was looking for, and she absolutely killed it! My hair looks so pretty, feels light and fresh, and is exactly what I wanted. Yvette is sweet, personable, and really listens to what you want. She's receptive to inspiration photos, communicates well, and makes the whole experience enjoyable. The shampoo experience is also wonderful and so relaxing! The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and bright, with a lovely, open feel that lets the stylists' work really shine. They offer nice beverages when you arrive, and they carry two of my favorite haircare brands, Bumble and bumble and Kerastase. The entire staff is welcoming and friendly, which makes such a difference. I'm so happy to have found Yvette and such a great salon in the area. If you're looking for a stylist who listens, understands your vision, and does beautiful work, I highly recommend her and this salon!

I agree with other reviewers that you will need to expect 1.5 hours or so with him. It's helpful to bring him photos as he clearly wants to do the utmost best work for you and he is passionate and meticulous about his craft. I fully trust his eye for hair style based on my head shape so after the photos let him cook! He also helped me explain what products I do or don't need to use and how to use it. Thanks Johnny!

I've been to Johnny a few times now, and he's always been careful and meticulous with his work. My…read morebiggest--and really only--complaint is his timeliness. He's consistently late to appointments, regardless of the day of the week or time of day. It's usually at least 30 minutes, and there was even a time when he was more than an hour late. The frustrating part is that he isn't running behind because he's still with another client. He'll be out getting lunch or something and come back with a drink while I've been waiting. I find this really irresponsible, especially when I'm paying $100+ for a haircut that already takes at least 1.5 hours. I don't mind the length of the appointment at all when it starts on time, but the additional wait makes it difficult to plan anything around it. I'm always stressed because I either need to be somewhere afterward or I'm coming in after work, and he's regularly not ready until at least 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I think my last appointment was the final straw for me. I had enough time to take myself out for brunch and even do a little shopping at Pacific Commons, and he was still an hour late. I really like his work, which is why I kept coming back despite the delays, but I won't be back for a while.

It wasn't until this year I've decided to seriously look into stylists who specialize in the perm/air perm technique and to my surprise, there isn't many in the Bay Area! Nadine was so friendly and charismatic when i first met her and i really felt i got to experience the salon energy! If that makes any sense lol. Nadine worked with Vicky for many years so i trusted in her especially for my first perm EVER. I got an air perm, which was so fun because i got to wear the funky curlers in my hair, the hard part was sleeping/laying down comfortably, but it was tolerable. Overall, i have to say that i loved my experience and i LOVE my hair even more! My curls are full and full of volume and i can't wait to go back and get a touch up! Thank you so much Nadine!

Even though she was finishing up with the client before me, I barely had to wait at all when I arrived. She takes a look at your current hair situation, suggests what will actually look best, and is completely honest and realistic about your hair goals. The blowouts? Absolutely gorgeous! I honestly did not know my hair could look or feel this good. She removed almost all of my damaged ends, leaving my hair feeling healthier and looking so much more voluminous than before. My favorite part is when she washes my hair. Her amazing head and neck massage is such a relaxing treat. One thing I really love about Kayla is that she knows how to read her clients. She lets me enjoy the quiet and doesn't fill my time with unnecessary small talk like some salons do. Those few peaceful hours are exactly what I need. That's why I've stayed with her all these years and even followed her when she opened her own salon. I've also trusted her with my mom, my husband, my two boys, and several friends.
