When I hesitated, the employee spent five minutes typing on her computer and suddenly came back with an "official" quote of over $500. It's hard to believe the price quintupled in five minutes, or that she suddenly didn't need to send them out for that quote once I questioned the deposit. Most concerning was the lack of expertise. I asked for an appraisal on a necklace clearly engraved with a "750" hallmark. She told me the stone was likely fake because the chain was white and "wasn't even silver." For a professional jeweler to not recognize the standard hallmark for 18k white gold is a massive red flag. Between the "bait and switch" pricing tactics and the inability to identify basic gold hallmarks, I wouldn't trust this shop with high-end jewelry. I'm glad I didn't leave a deposit and took my business elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and honestly confusing. I came in with my newborn son and my mom, and after waiting a few minutes without being acknowledged we walked up to the front desk to ask for help. A staff member assisted us and showed a few bands. When I found one I liked, I asked if it could be made in yellow gold. She said she would check with the vendor and offered to clean my engagement ring so I could look at the bands with my clean ring. After a few minutes, she returned with my ring, and when I asked to try on another band, she told us she was now helping someone else and couldn't assist us further.This was surprising since she had been helping us the entire time up to that point. I ended up picking it up the following business day and the repair was great, the weld is super small and you can't tell unless you look at it closely.
