His vocabulary is amazing. He speaks in complete, complex sentences and is able to label nearly everything he comes into contact with. At two he can count to 15 and sing the alphabet. This is almost entirely from the school. He is so excited to tell me about his day and sing the songs he learned that day. He has been moved to "higher" classrooms twice and his teachers have all been terrific. He truly loves his teachers and talks about them often. All of the teachers and staff at the school know him by name and greet him like a friend when we come in and leave -- even teachers that he hasn't had as his teacher. All of his teachers have been there since he started and the faces and names become familiar because their turnover of staff seems very low. Many of his teachers have been there for years. It seems that all the staff is very attentive to the children and have always been very patient with our questions and hovering. The programs for the children are age appropriate and seem to really excite the children. They have P.E. everyday and my child loves his coach. They have music class and special programs throughout the week. For the 3 and up students they have Spanish and computer class as well. My child has been so happy at Seaborn that he cries when we drive by the school on the weekends because he can't go to school. A previous reviewer complained about the application of sunscreen for their child. While I cannot speak to their specific experience I can say that I have witnessed them applying sunscreen and bug spray to the children on multiple occasions and the children line up and wait for the application like it is a normal procedure. Additionally, my child has eczema and they have always been happy to apply whatever over the counter or prescription he happens to be using. I also want to note that the school is very flexible with us and the rules are reasonable. I love that all the holidays are celebrated and taught to the children. My child is so excited for Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc. I don't feel that they push the children to learn things at all, but that they make the learning experience fun and exciting for them. My two year old knows so much from Seaborn that total strangers have stopped us while we've been out to say that they think he is a genius. We don't think that is the case at all. He is just a normal kid who is inspired by his school to engage fully with the world around him. With full time working parents we try to teach him as much as possible, but it is impossible to do everything. Thankfully Seaborn has been there for us and we couldn't be happier with the experience our child has had there.

He began his kindergarten year last year and immediately qualified for the gifted program. The VPK program is run by amazing teachers who are patient and experienced. We experienced situations where teachers were yelling at children, as well as concerns about adequate supervision. On multiple occasions, my child came home with bite marks. I understand that accidents can happen in a childcare setting, but repeated incidents raised concerns for us about supervision and how these situations were being handled. We also had concerns with classroom management and communication. At one point, my child became so uncomfortable that he was crying and saying he was scared to go to daycare. We ultimately requested a classroom change, and our experience improved significantly with different teachers. We had some wonderful teachers who were kind and caring, and we appreciated them very much. Unfortunately, our most recent issue has been financial. We provided more than the required two-week notice and were previously given a $260 vacation credit for two weeks our child was absent in March. Based on the attendance, tuition, credit, and payments made, there appears to be an overpayment of approximately $256.41. I have provided the daycare with a detailed explanation and calculation and have repeatedly tried to resolve this directly. I have also specifically requested an explanation from the regional director regarding why this matter has not been addressed. I was told by the school director that the regional director has access to all of my emails and the relevant Procare information, yet she has not addressed the matter with me directly. What is particularly frustrating is that I was told by Mrs. Kayla that she believes I am simply asking for a refund of an unused vacation credit. That is not what I am requesting. The $260 vacation credit was already applied to my account and was part of the calculation when determining what I owed. The issue is the resulting account balance and apparent overpayment after applying the credit and accounting for the days my child actually attended. If the regional director has reviewed the emails and Procare records, I would expect the information to clearly show what I am actually disputing. I have asked for a straightforward explanation of how the final balance was calculated, but I have yet to receive one. I even offered an alternative resolution--using the amount toward several days of individual care if issuing a refund was administratively difficult. Overall, our experience has been very mixed. We had teachers who genuinely cared about our child, and we are grateful for them. However, the concerns regarding supervision, repeated biting incidents, teachers yelling at children, communication, and now the handling of an apparent overpayment have left us very disappointed. I'm sharing our experience so other parents can make an informed decision and, importantly, carefully keep track of attendance, payments, credits, and communications regarding their child's care. I will update when I hear back from the Regional Director about the refund.

My son learned a lot with Mrs Dwyer as his gifted math teacher as well as with Mrs Marsh his gifted science teacher. My son has learned such a great deal and is enjoying learning at Chiles elementary school. He has become a super reader thanks to Mr. R who is a wonderful role model to the children at Chiles and has also done extremely well with his writing thanks to Mrs. Baldwin who is my son's outstanding homeroom teacher who made his transition from South Tampa to new Tampa a wonderful experience. Mrs Baldwin has truly made my son's experience at Chiles elementary school. This school is exemplary and I am so happy that my son is going to the school and would highly recommend the school. I was for a scheduled interview that was set up over the phone as I was covering my grounds right before summer end (2024) to place both my girls at the same program since I had one VPK ready and an incoming 1st grader that I was trying to keep close. I loved the fact the school was Montessori as I am an early childhood educator with KinderCare lead teaching background and experience across Bronx NY and Tampa FL. I've worked in professional environments since I was 18 years old. My intentions were to get the girls inside a private program under the Step Up scholarship award that I discussed with Kim to make sure her school accepted. To my surprise not only did she say they accepted that scholarship but ALSO invited me to interview for a position as the co teacher to the primary class. I NEVER APPLIED FOR THIS POSTION, IT WAS OFFERED. A month later, I was terminated without notice or an explanation, let alone write up or staff meeting that was disrespectfully PROMISED to me the following Monday after being yelled at by BOTH lead teacher of primary, Ms. JANET and KIM Delaney because I could not make a (well known disruptive) child stop yelling during nap time. The unspeakable treatment I witnessed (even my daughter receive from her 2 Lower Elem teachers, Mr. G and Ms. Lauren) received in the short amount of time I was there by some of the staff members was ridiculous, unnecessary and uncalled. I grew up middle class in an area where I was already used to being the only person color so being the only person of color in staff was not a problem, as many of our families were integrated. I actually LOVED the community, the children. The problem was the ADULTS in the matter. A lot ego and insecurities for me to manage as I was often antagonized by Ms Janet, lied on by Ms Jennifer when she accused me of mentioning "white privilege" during a conversation she couldn't even remember but "claim" I said it multiple times. I literally watch Ms. Janet catch attitudes if the children were "too interested in me", she would label it attachment to the point she actually had parent conference with a child's parent about me, WITHOUT me being present to actually present the facts. I watch Ms Lauren yell at my child for accidentally backing into another child's space. . Another day, watched her take my child's lunch one day from not her sandwich first. Lauren's response was, "we are a sandwich eating class", however when I spoke to another volunteer parent who's son was in my class, she gave me an honest observation of her son who is also in the same class and said she never had that experience. I believe my family was singled out the day they began to label me a problem. Mr G. rudely told me "I never met a child that can read but can't write to my face referring to my child whom I vulnerably shared needed writing assistance. The teachers gossip about everything but asked me to not share my opinions with other parents, as I was also a parent, which is completely hypocritical. I thought about unemployment, but God is too good to me, I was offered another opportunity as usual because I have a good heart and that's why I never belonged there. My wishes to anyone who chooses to be a parent/teacher of different background decent but my prediction is, they will not be hiring any more confident black educators, but they will unapologetically accept tuition from them. Mixed integrated families should think twice about making this school your child's second home. The heart of child is just as important as the education. Even after I left in peace, Kim made sure to terminate my children from her school, leaving them school-less for almost 2 months out pure spite because she no longer wanted to wait for the scholarship she told me to not worry about from day one. Imagine a 4 and 7 year old being turned away with a now terminated, single parent looking for work. By the end of that month, my daughter's scholarship was approved for full tuition and I placed her inside a real Montessori program up the street from my home, called Harmon Prep after waiting another month to process her into a new school, as I was terminated the day my sister took her life, September 7, 2024. My only regret is that I never got a chance to say goodbye to lovely and wonderful group of children inside the primary class who dearly loved me and I still love them. I know this because I had students telling me this the 2nd week of school! It's sad star quality teachers are leaving the school system because of toxic gate keepers inside the education system. I had a student ask me one day, what makes my skin brown, such an APPROPRIATE question for their age to ask, which let me know the children at that school never will get to experience an authentic diverse culture inside that community.
