Stopped in for a quick bite of dinner on a Sunday evening. The only staff available were behind the bar, so we inquired with them about available seating. They said they would check and someone would be with us, and after a few more awkward moments waiting we were escorted to a back corner booth. The person took our drink order and departed, arriving back a few moments later with our drinks. Unfortunately, this was the high point of service. We seemingly were forgotten about for 20 minutes or so until someone stopped by to get our food order. We ordered a duck bao bun appetizer with the sea bass and crab linguine, and thai chicken and vegetable curry for mains. Another age went by before our buns were dropped by. They weren't terrible, but had so much hoisin sauce that the duck wasn't detectable. When our mains arrived, the dissapointment continued. The sea bass wasn't bad, but the crab linguine was a poor pairing, basically two independent dishes lumped together. It wasn't horrible, but wasn't well thought out. The curry was just bland and soupy. It tasted more like a broth with undercooked noodles soaked with vegetables and some diced chili peppers. The curry was almost indecipherable. It really felt like watered down leftovers. I've had better £5 chicken curry than this £18 dish.
Unfortunately I don't see us coming back to or recommending the Glynne Arms. read more
