First of, let me state I that I do not recommended these apartments solely based on the office staff. The interior apartment itself has been great although the doors are very heavy as they slam shut very loudly and there is about an 1 inch area from floor to bottom of the door so you can easily hear conversations and noise from hallways. I'm writing you this as I hear my neighbor discuss the grocery store with her mother. You will be recommended to purchased a $20 rubber piece from amazon for under the door. The view from the windows is great but will have to see through the stained glass that they say they can do nothing about.
Some of the staff are very misinformed and will tell you information regarding your lease in person but will completely deny the information at a later date because what they said may have been incorrect. The property manager has walked through the halls and spoke loudly and negatively regarding her office staff and wanting to "fire one of the girls". Hence, this office staff is trouble. Jenna is very knowledgeable and I should have just spoken to her but I assumed they were all trained on the same information. The lead maintenance does a great job as well!
During Covid-19, I lost my job. I was told in person on April 20th that there is a 1 month cancellation fee and a 30 day notice in front of not one, but two office members. Come the 1st when I'm ready to pay, it has completely changed and they are now saying 2 month cancellation fee with NO 30 day notice. There would be no point for me to give a 30 day notice on April 20th if they weren't even making residents give 30 days hence she misinformed me. They also said that my $300 security deposit would be credited on the prorate for March 1st - March 20th. They have since then retracted that information and said the person who told me just transferred from another region where the security deposits are handled differently. I will not be receiving the security deposit due to a 'buy out lease agreement.' This is a HUGE $ mistake.
I informed the regional, Jonathan, that I would be reviewing their property online and he could care less stating "I'm sure you will" with a condescending tone. While his call was prompt, it was very black and white. He then had the audacity to tell me that they needed the income to pay bills which is understandable but when your property has tripled in value, which public record is attached. Your claim is invalid. Mind you the property was purchased in 1992 for 3.1 mil and have an income of around 2.5 mil (YEARLY which is calculated by 135 units and average rent) for 2019. You can ignore the information that I have given you but your staff is a reflection of your company's name and integrity. The fact that the ladies in the office denied verbally telling me that information to the regional is beyond and extremely dishonest.
I have contemplated the fact that yes, property management companies need to pay their bills so you hold them to the lease but when you are a larger property management company taking advantage and profiting off this unfortunate natural pandemic, should speak for itself. I wasn't asking to be let out scot-free, I was asking to them to honor what they said which was 1 month cancellation fee plus prorated rent for 20 days which they denied. Yes, 11 days and a security deposit matter during a pandemic when you have nothing. Companies like these should be exposed for what they truly are, GREEDY, during uncontrollable disasters.
I also want to note that during a national pandemic there are other major property company's out there like Windsor Mgmt and Camden Mgmt who are giving back up to $2,000 to the residents who have lost their job during COVID-19. Camden Mgmt itself has placed a 5 million dollar relief fund for its residents who are out of work during these trying times. Yet, Morguard Mgmt, the Georgian, has only offered to put on a payment plan or if rent isn't paid they said they will follow up with eviction once the courts have been reopened. Keep in mind this property has an income of over 2.5 million per year. My grandfather always said money was the root of all evil and this is a prime example. They even say it themselves on their website of 21.5 billion in assets. Do your research on management companies because the truth always shows face and greed sure is ugly.
I have been around property management, worked and lived, for over 10 years and this is by far the worst property management staff I have ever encountered. I wouldn't say that if I truly didn't feel that way.
I would not recommend leasing at this property. A property management company always say that a prospect will lease there because of the staff but I can truly guarantee you that you can find an honest and reliable staff elsewhere. read more
