went there on a coach tour last week, the Hotel needs some TLC and refreshing the decor would be good , our room was so small that we had to stack the chairs provided on top of each other as there wasn't enough room for us to actually use them, also couldn't actually use the wardrobe to store clothes as we had to keep our suit cases in there due there being nowhere to put them . No bedside lamp meant that we had to use a torch to get to bed after putting the light out because there were literally millimetres of space to manoeuvre around the bed and dresser. bathroom so small no room to leave toiletries in there and there was a horrible smell pervading the room the whole time, smelled like sewage. Having said that the staff were absolutely brilliant , nothing was too much trouble for them, the meals were delicious with generous portions and a choice of 3 starters, 4 mains and 4 sweets every evening, breakfast served like clockwork every morning and evening meals were done within an hour with only three staff serving each area they coped with 3 coach loads of people all sitting down together no problem. Entertainment each night consisted of bingo, quizzes and a live act which was pretty good and got everyone talking to each other so all in all while not the best room I have ever stayed in I would use this hotel again just because the staff made it such a pleasure as well as its location which is 500 yds from the Tower and the town centre. read more
