The experience was great though and I can see why bands like Barenaked Ladies frequent this place. We were in Studio A and we choose the 7' Baldwin Grand Piano to record with and man did it sound beautiful. The studio and recording equipment is top notch, and your choices for pianos and organs are astounding. Just take a look on their website for all their gear. The guys working there were really helpful and the process was fast and smooth. It's not cheap though, you're paying for the best here. That's mainly why we had to go in after hours, to save some coin (I know a guy who knows a guy ;). Once I become a rock star though I intend to really test this place out. I said I was interested and I need to confirm for my band members, he said it would NOT be a problema to hold until Monday - "No problem at all" his words. Now it is Monday the 30th, I called in to confirm and close the deal. Sebastian said he rented the room to somebody else and said "I gotta keep the business running". He didn't even give me a call to say "Hey Dan, you were here on Friday and now I have someone interested, if you are not going to close now I will rent to someone else". Because if we knew there was another person to close we'd have transferred immediately over the weekend - after all he said he was going to hold no problem so how would I know? This is the most disrespectful and unprofessional situation. His words mean nothing, I wasted time and money to go there and he doesn't care. He offered another room that is smaller, and used as storage room, no windows, and for the same price!! Not even said "sorry I made a mistake", after all we are humans, instead he's proud and gives zero fuck since now he's got his money and the room rented. If you are looking for someone honest and professional, this is NOT your spot.

There were a lot of people already there but I think there might be more people and crowded in the afternoon. The tour was pretty much a self guided tour. Also, there are volunteers who will help you if you have any questions. The building and the grounds were stunning. You are able to see and visit most of the main building. The beach and grounds were scenic and a good hike. The outside was not as busy as the building. A Slight Ceveat: The grounds/extrior are pretty accessible. However, it is an older builing. The interiors seems to be accessed mainly by stairs so it's pretty limited accessibility.

I can't believe I have never visited this historical site near the waterfront! Constructed in the…read more1930's, it is also known as "The Palace of Purification." It still produces approximately 30% of Toronto's drinking water, and is capable of doing so at almost 950 million litres a day! The Romanesque architecture is stunning, and a photographer's dream! This inside is not open to the public (except for Doors Open Toronto), but the location and surrounding areas have been used for many films and TV series. I timed my visit to watch the sunset, and was amazed at how quiet and peaceful the area is. I felt transported to a vacation destination in Europe! The sunset wasn't as vivid as I hoped, but the evening skies were unbelievably blue. I think the sunset views are best seen closer to Toronto Island. We found complimentary residential street parking just a few minutes away, but the moment we entered the grounds, there were TONS of mosquitoes (this was in the summertime)! Make sure you use bug repellent. Strangely enough, we didn't get bitten! I think it was due to the sunscreen we still had on! We're definitely returning to see how this looks in the wintertime! A few weeks back, I had a computer keyboard and mouse that weren't operational. I needed to dispose of them, but where? I did a search and found Markham Household Hazardous Waste Depot. The funny thing is that I have driven past this depot countless times and never knew that it existed. I do now! It was a Saturday. I drove northbound on Rodick Road and made a left turn into the depot. I learned later that I had entered this depot correctly and that it's a one-way path. I thought that I needed to park and then bring my stuff over to two guys sitting behind a desk. I was backing up my car and got yelled at by one of them. It was quite the rude awakening. I always find that if signage isn't clear to me, it needs help. Nowhere did it say that driving in was a one-way direction and that formally parking next to other cars that were parked wasn't allowed. It's the main reason why I took a star off. Rather than yelling at a first-time visitor, how about being more cheerful and tone things down? One of them asked what I had. I said a keyboard and mouse. He said to go up to the pink table. I thanked him and said that it was my first time here. I implied to give me a break from yell-fest 2025. I drove up next to the pink table. There was a guy. I asked if I was at the right place with a keyboard and mouse. He said yes. I then asked if I could park off to the side and fetch my stuff. Heaven forbid getting yelled at a second time. He said yes. I brought my stuff over to the table as he dragged a large bin over. He said to set my items on the table. I did. I thanked him and went back to my car. My keyboard and mouse had served me well. The former was ergonomic and corded. The latter was my first Apple mouse. They were both over a decade old. Farewell! I left and continued running errands. This depot is open Thursday through Monday, from 8:30 am till 4:30 pm. It's closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I was here at around 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon. One sign said that photo ID was required because this depot is for York region residents only. I never was asked to present photo ID. I am grateful that this place exists. It's almost 2025, and it is still as easy as 1-2-3, just like what Allison Y. wrote in her review…read moreback in 2017 :) This hazardous waste depot makes it so easy to dispose electronics and household chemicals. They ask you want you are disposing, check your ID, and you just leave everything at the table, and the staff will help you sort it out. The service is usually fast, and they already have a great system in place to make our lives easier during our visit. The depot is opened everyday except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Like most good Gibson's, the…read moreheadstock snapped right off, resulting in a jagged break (look this up - a far too common occurance). I thought the guitar was now firewood, but discussed the possibility of repair with Gibson in the US, a well known guitar shop in the east end and Gibson's distributor in Canada. I was referred to Brian Mascarin by a sales associate at Long & Mcquade. We spoke on the phone & his pricing was fair so we agreed to proceed. The repair took longer than he had originally promised, partly because he decided that the although the break glued up nicely, he felt that the joint should be glass reinforced to be on the safe side. I am a guitar player of 54 years, a hobbyist woodworker and have done some guitar repair and refinishing myself. I was amazed at the finished result - there's no way to tell that the headstock was repaired, no evidence that the joint was glass reinforced, re-finishing has no lumps, bumps, mismatched colour - nothing! The guitar looks as if it just came out of the box at the guitar store, and it plays exactly as it did before the accident. Brians' work was perfect - his pricing was fair (less than I would have spent with the "big name" repair shop) and no surprises. I would hire him again for the same job, and will use him for all my guitar repair needs, except those I can do myself - A+ Brian, and thanks.
