I started at the Rock 201 level, (level 3 out of 6) and ended in Houseband, a performance based group who played at Summerfest in Milwaukee, the Mall of America, and the Xcel Energy Center at a Wild game. I've loved all of my instructors and their various teaching styles. They offer every aspect of a rock band, including all the instruments mentioned above. Kids are also able to pick from a variety of artists and genres to cover as a band, and make new friends and learn the importance of teamwork. I had the privilege of learning here, and went from fumbling through vocals on "Eye of the Tiger", to absolutely mastering every instrument on "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and teaching a group of younger students how to play it as a band. I've not only improved musically, but also as a person. I've learned the importance of teamwork, respect, hard work, and consistency. I've become a better public speaker and more of an extrovert, but also gained more self awareness, and I firmly believe that my emotional development is easily owed to this program. If your child (or you!) stick with this program, it will definitely be worth your while! Even though the school is aimed at students, adults are also able to receive lessons and there is an adult band! Any level of music education and experience is welcome here, and will be greeted with open arms.

They asked each of us why we'd were taking the class and genuinely tried to tailor the experience and instructions to meet as many people's requests and needs as possible which I greatly appreciated. They went above and beyond to make us feel special and took time to answer all of our food and kitchen related questions, even if it didn't relate to sushi. We have tried making sushi at home before but always felt like something was missing or we would struggle with certain aspects of the process. However, many of the people in the course had never made sushi before so this was a great class for beginners of all skill levels! Besides the sushi rice & tempura shrimp tails being pre made and some of the sauce ingredients being pre-portioned out, we made all of the other filling ingredients! We started by learning the best way to julienne a cucumber for sushi rolls & then how to slice up an avocado. Once that was done, we made a marinade for each of our fresh tuna steaks and were able to sear them to our liking! Once all of our ingredients were prepped, we rolled two different sushi rolls, one with shrimp & one with tuna and both were so tasty. What I truly loved was that everyone had their own ingredients to make their own two rolls. This allowed each of us to not only have an abundance of food at the end, but we also got to test our own skills out and learn from hands on experience. I can't wait to bring these new skills to life in my own kitchen. We also got a miso soup at the end which was amazing. This was money well spent and I'm looking forward to more classes in the future!

Parking is easy, which already sets it apart from most places in the area. The equipment is well-maintained, with plenty of machines and free weights so you're not waiting around. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help without being pushy. The locker rooms are spotless, with good showers and enough space, which makes getting in and out smooth. What I really appreciate is how family-friendly the whole place is. The kids' areas, classes, and pool setup make it a great option if you're trying to balance fitness and family time. It's hard to find a gym that truly gets both right -- but this one does. Overall, this YMCA is consistently reliable, clean, and well-run. Whether you're working out, taking classes, or bringing the kids, it's one of the best community gyms in the area. Highly recommend.

The first time I ever came to Orchard I was greeted by a staring teacher who seem to not know why I was timing the doorbell with a 4 year old by my side. Secondly, I signed my child up for care with a post dated start day, due to travel and family being in town. 3 months go by and I noticed a large sum of money taken out of my account before we started with the childcare. ( As many may know, child care is not cheap). I immediately call and was told that due to me saying my child would be there one week ahead of time and I did not bring her, they would still charge me for that week..... At this moment I was confused because this date was a tentative date and could change as stated in the email 3 months prior.... I was then told that I could not be reimbursed for the wasted week. The teachers were awesome... But the GM and the Manager of the centers were Money hungry and poor communicators. I Will Never Recommend This Center To ANYONE!

The final draw for us was when I was dropping my child off in their room, looking down the hall I witnessed a teacher strike a child in the infant room then aggressively pick them up by their arm and slam them into a bumbo chair; all because the child, who could not sit up on their own, fell out of the chair. I have never been in that much shock in my life and connected with CPS immediately. The hard part is there were a few wonderful young teachers there that my child really took to so it is unfortunate that the bad outweighed the so dramatically. I hope drastic measures were taken as I am still in shock years later.
