The person who assisted us then was knowledgeable and we asked alot of questions due to it being the first time we have ever planted a hedge. Today I wanted to go back since I had a decent experience previously. The lot was completely full and I had to park in the furthest section of the lot. I went into the flower section and asked the first red hooded employee I saw where the Impatiens were. There were 2 other employees in the same area and the employee I asked pointed them out. As a took a step away, I heard one of the workers say out loud, "Guys, Keep a Look Out!" I paused and thought was that about me?" Was I up to something? Did I not look like I belonged? I was going to ask what was that supposed to mean as I looked up and turned and all 3 were now looking at me. I won't judge your workers for working at a nursery if they don't judge me for my appearance. It goes both ways. If you have a theft problem, that's your issue. I'm only there to spend money. Not take BS from your staff.

Huge place with soooooooo many hoop houses to check out. No one has more herbs than Allen. The scented geraniums are outstanding with the varieties. Greatest selection of hostas that I've ever come across. Once in awhile, he'll put out a sale. Well worth to utilize the sale and come home with wagons of premium plants. He carries the herbs into winter, so they make great gifts around the holidays where I make up my own garden packages for people. I've been a fan of this place for years. Allen and his limited staff put a lot of work into growing nice plants for dirt cheap here. The place can be a bit rough-looking with the empty beds in the front, but look past that for the goldmine. He has a list inside the office of all available plants and where to find them. You can take a list with you as you shop and tow your wagon cart. Great place if you need plants for plant sales.

When we first started going this was a nice affordable way to spend a Saturday afternoon, and purchase a couple of pumpkins. I do not know what has happened. These events have become overly commercial and very expensive. All of the activities now take tickets. There was a slide that cost 2 dollars. This seemed exceedingly expensive. It used to be the activities were free, but you paid for food, the pumpkins, etc. I can understand charging for a hayride which we rode, and I have to say it was very nice , relaxing and fun. Both my 15 year old and 6 year old enjoyed this hayride. There is a lot to do, and the activities are fun. However, as stated above, you will pay for everything you do or eat here. The corn maze was fun, but a bit short. The highlight was the hayride. They did have a guy playing guitar and singing country types of songs. He was quite good, and the music added to the atmosphere. The hours are 12-4 which really should be expanded to end at 5 or 6. The bottom line is we had a good time, but spent over $75 for a 2 1/2 hour visit. This is not a very good value.
