If you like card games/tabletop this might be a better store for you, but I used to shop there for video games and as such, it's terrible. The selection is pitiful, almost all of the games are getting sunbleached every single day because the store has them all displayed near the front window with the sunlight pouring through, yet they still want top price charting value for the rarer stuff. This store either needs to act like they care about their inventory, or just clearance off their video games if they can't be bothered with them any more. I also don't get the impression that the staff doesn't know anything about these games except what they sell for on ebay. read more

Possibly the best website of all of the LGS, displaying their complete stock of sealed, singles and accessories, you can place an order to be shipped or picked up. I have been using their website for buylists for about a year and I have to say it is very user friendly, even for a novice. Since I don't live in the Dayton area, I always shipped my cards to the store and received payment immediately upon them receiving and grading my cards. Recently I had the privilege of dropping cards off in person and meeting the owner and staff and they are fantastic people! Very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend them for submitting online buylists and if you have the chance, stop into the store and see all they have to offer for all your trading card needs. read more

Store has a decent selection and a pretty large sized gaming area but the staff are TERRIBLE! I have seen staff have loud arguements with customers, ignore customers, and whine about how depressing their lives are (one staff member told me he was contemplating suicide, what fun!). We went to the game haven on a random day trip to Dayton and we were surprised by the board game prices. They have the best prices of any brick and mortar store, and match amazon, Cool Stuff Inc., and Miniature Market. They have a decent selection of games and the staff was very pleasant. We did not look through the video game, comic, miniature or magic areas but there was a strong selection of these elements as well. We will be making trips back here before we shop online! read more

Do not buy anything Magic the Gathering related from them, except deck boxes or deck sleeves, there prices are always above market value for singles and the booster packs are tampered with. As for the prebuilt decks that wizards if he coast puts out they charge supermarket value for them, not normal card shop value. As for the other games and stuff they sell I'm not sure how their prices compare to their competitors. read more

The worker that was there was super friendly and even though they didn't have any that i needed he still informed me to be on the look out for the fakes and even told me what to look for. Quite the variety of games for a small shop plus a room to play. The prices here are much closer to online retail prices than other game shops in the area and at times they beat their online competitors. I highly recommend stopping by. read more

I used to go to this store all the time but last night I had an experience that turned me off from them for good. I took a friend of mine with an eye based disability, namely that he is legally blind, to the store for a first comic store experience. The staff openly laughed at him when he wasn't nearby and one of them even made fun of the apparatus he uses to view objects far away. I don't know where this is acceptable but no way on Earth can I recommend a store that comes off so horrible to those who cannot help their condition. read more

I am an avid board gamer. Game haven claims to be a "Friendly Local game Store" but in my opinion, it would be more appropriately named "Rude Local Magic Store". Again, I am just a board gamer, I dont like MTG, so this review could not be for you. All of the staff only have knowledge about magic cards or some know about comics. The only person there who knows anything about games is the owner, who is never in the store with customers. The only positive thing about this place is that their prices match what you find online. However, they never have any games worth buying. Game Haven's "Open board game night" consists of some people playing MTG and a group of guys playing a closed game of Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Very uninviting, rude, unintelligent staff, horrible selection. It is well worth the gas and higher prices to go to the much more friendly, more board gamer friendly Epic Loot Games. read more
