The drapes were hung so beautiful and the black chandelier is gorgeous. My favorite part is the bathroom. It has pink floral wallpaper and it's so quaint. The whole room was filled with such detail and intention. Michael is such a wonderful cook. There were homemade scones and cinnamon rolls served with eggs, bacon or sausage and they also had little parfaits. I had to have everything because it smells so delicious! Totally worth it to stretch my waistline. Joana mentioned they plan to open a bed and breakfast in France! With the wonderful couple hosting, you know I'll be there! The B and B itself was welcoming, tastily decorated, cozy and comfortable. The pool and hot tub looked inviting although we didn't have time to try either. Killer breakfast in the morning with plenty of food. Fruit was the best and so fresh and delicious. Pastries were equally as fresh. The presentation and vibe of the dining area was nicely done. Breakfast order was cooked as requested and yummy. I am sorry we were able to spend more time, not only in the area, but at The Victoria. It takes a special couple to own and manage a B and B and Michael and Joana have it mastered to a fine art! You won't be disappointed to add this to your list of places to stay if you are in the vicinity.

We too found that the owners were gracious hosts and the breakfast was delicious. I want to add two thoughts. First, the neighborhood was very quiet with lots of well kept and interestingly landscaped old houses, and it was a safe pleasant walk to Crystal Bridges and downtown. Second, if you wanted to drive to Bentonville with a friend who didn't want to go to Crystal Bridges, your friend would be just fine hanging around Laughlin House watching movies on their nice TVs, reading, or sitting (at least in the Spring) in their garden while you visit the museum.

The house was tidy and clean...so clean. The Blue Fern puts any hotel chain to shame, they could learn a thing or two from Monica about hospitality and professionalism. Her breakfast was yummy and the coffee cake was tasty. They are in the process of trying to sell the Blue Fern and retire, but in the meantime, they gotta keep the lights on, stay here if you're going to Tahlequah. We drove to Branson, Missouri and ate at the Keeter Center which is part of the College of the Ozarks. The food is phenomenal and reasonable priced. We liked the lunch so much we went back later for dessert!! We also went to a show at Sight and Sound Theater. Lots to do!! I would highly recommend staying here. I have never felt so relaxed. One market said 1807and another said 1837. Checking online, 1815 looks like the most likely date. This was originally a stagecoach stop which make sense. It's at the end of navigable water and as far up a river traffic could go. Above was the interior of what was the Virginia. It was said that one of the original owners was the Grandson of one of the Declaration of Independence signers. It's an Inn with a full service restaurant that is open to the public. You can dine with a great view of the Kanawha Falls. We did not have reservations so had to wait a bit to be seated. While we waited, we talked to another local couple. He was from the Hawk's Nest Area (Ansted WV) and she was from the Babcock area. They dated in HS and later went separate ways but eventually met and married. From them we found out that Bridge Day had been cancelled because of Covid so our big detour was unnecessary. Nice menu. I ended up with a Mushroom Swiss Burger and Peanut Butter Pie. My companion had French Onion Soup and an amazing Grilled Porkchop. Took forever but we were part of the problem. They only serve one course at a time and the Soup Course gets served first and the Main Course does not get served till the Soup Course is over. Same with the Desert Course. Does not get served till the Main Course is over. Still there were lapses in service and in more than one case, had to flag down the server to get something else like a beverage refill. Still very nice and would definitely do it again and next time, may even stay at the end to cut down on driving so much in one day.
