The price is way too high for what they have. The exercise equipment is limited, so you can't replace your regular gym. The climbing walls are pretty good. The classes are limited, and the instructors are usually pretty bad. The staff is generally kind of rude. read more

I had such a fun experience here! My friend and I just did a day pass and did both the auto belaying and the training to be certfied for partner belaying. We did the training with Jaron and the certification with Shad. Both of them were so helpful and patient. It isn't my thing enough to get a membership, but I would definitely like to come again for the day. read more

So we all know starting something new can be really scary and intimidating. My mentor said I need to find a hobby that keeps me both active and helps me become more social. I've always wanted to try climbing and so I went out on a limb because the Front looked really cool. I signed up for their intro to climbing class. Yes the gym is cool, yes, there is a ton of cool facilities, yes, there is an auto belay and free weights and a yoga studio and tons of windows so you get vitamin C/D, and can beat seasonal depression. But the best part was my instructor Chase. I always forget to leave reviews, but because of him and his encouraging, motivating, welcoming, informative class I have been climbing for almost a month and am having an incredibly great time. If you're scared to get in to climbing, please take the class. Additionally, the rest of the staff has been kind and helpful too! Go. Don't let the "climbing club" dissuade you. They are (a lot) about climbing but there are also free weights, cardio, and yoga. Also, I read on-the-line yesterday that lots of people are dissuaded from going to gyms because they feel intimated by the other patrons, not 'fitting in', etc. Please don't let that stop you...I know jack-shit about climbing for one thing and the people there are completely understanding, helpful, and in no way superior seeming. I went for a yoga class (awesome, inclusive) and came back to "climb" as best an idiot beginner could. I wished I lived closer and this place would be my gym. read more

PARENTS, if you ever consider their kids summer camp -DON'T GO! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PlACE.This is the most horrible camp experience my kids ever had. 1. NO SAFETY MEASURE. The camp coach won't start the session or supervise the kids for at least 30 mins into the session while all the kids climb on the wall. They let the kids out at least 10 mins early before the session. No one was actively watching the kids during these times. And later when we complained, they call this unsupervised camp time "WARM UPS" They made you sign all these forms so they are clean and clear out of any possible responsibilities even when they are the ones that cause the issue the first place. Oh, after they let the kids out 10 mins before, my kids wanted to go up to the bouldering area, guess what, a staff immidiately came by and told us if we want to climb some more, we need to buy a DAY PASS (this is all within the camp time) 2. EXTREME RUDE even RACIST STAFF. If you are a person of color, don't go here, ever! My kids were picked on the entire time they were in the camp and were accused "stealing snacks" and "fighting all day long" which later we confirmed non of these things happened. And seriously, who accuse kids "stealing snacks'?!!!! How penny pinching can this place be if they can't even give out enough snacks for kids and then accuse them stealing?!!! And when we asked for video proof shows the so called stealing, they refused. And we (two moms) were cornered by their two managers and were threatened. 3. NO INTEGRITY WHATSOEVER. We ended up calling the cops on this place because how unsafe we felt. They were scared and then tried to get us out of the place. They told us they would give my kids refund for the camp if we go to the front desk.The moment we got to the front desk, the manager told us to "manage the refund another day" and when we left the building, the manager told us 'NO REFUND". By the way, all of these were recorded as I was calling 911 and of course when the cop showed up, the manager denied all of these statements. 4. POOR CLASS STRUCTURE. The instructors care nothing about the kids development. Most of the male instructors were just sitting on the bench and instruct kids run around to play games. They are there to babysit(can't even do that well since my kid were severely injured after the second class -non of the coaches said a thing) not to teach. Overall, this is an extremely unsafe place for kids to be, RUN AWAY from this terrible, rude, racist and unethical business. read more

The Front is so incredible! Before I start this review, let me state that I'm an extreme novice so I apologize if I identify anything wrong. This place has bouldering, crack, top rope, and trad climbing. Plus on top of that they have weights, yoga, cardio machines, and a store to grab anything you might want or need. Plus some weird room with all sorts of walls and gadgets to strengthen climbing type muscles. So yeah, this facility rocks. The staff is so friendly and helpful! They are truly what makes this place great. The price? It's expensive. It's super, super expensive. I want to get a monthly membership, but just can't justify it yet. Maybe one day! So far I've come here on day passes that I've received at local events or come to a climbing event so it made more sense to pay the price. read more

I came here on a friends buddy pass, which they can use once a month. I loved it. Its been a long time since I have been bouldering and that was the main reason why we went. There are tons of options as far as ways you can workout. They have a gym, boulder walls, rock walls, and tons of other options. Its your ultimate gym really. I thought everyone who worked here was awesome. There was a weird technical glitch in the system as far as memberships go but the worker was really patient with us and we got it all figured out. They also have this awesome, MASSIVE dog that walks around, so thats pretty cool. The only thing that I think is wrong is that it is a little bit pricey for those of us who want to go climbing frequently. With $20 a day and like $60 a month for a membership, I can't afford to go here. If they would create some sort of deal or group deals (other than their immediate family one) that would be great. Overall a great place if you're looking to go climbing like once a month. read more

This is a really beautiful gym in a beautiful building. Yoga classes come free with gym membership. Their pro-shop has a really good selection of gear and 10% off for members. Membership is $69/month for singles and $99 for couples. I'm not sure if this discount works for a couple of climbing buddies who want a combined membership or not... it's direct billing so it probably works as long as it comes out of one account. This is a little more expensive than I've seen elsewhere but they add value by offering free classes, a nice kitchen area, showers, plus they frequently host sanctioned competitions which means the gym has to meet certain host requirements which might not come cheaply for them. The team here have been unfailingly friendly and helpful. They offer climbing instruction for all levels. Parking is hit and miss. There are usually 10+ Subarus parked out front so you may have to drive around the block depending on what day and time you show up. read more

The staff is super nice and make you feel welcome right when you walk in the door. If you don't know how to climb don't worry, they offer classes that teach you everything you need to know. It is a very classy looking space with the best bouldering wall I have found and excellent space of top roping and lead climbing! Plus a full gym AND yoga! So good for the monthly price plus it is a great place to find new people to talk to! Employees are all friendly caring people that are always willing to help if you need it. I want to write a great review and give them five stars but I cant. Their have been far to many problems. When you first come they make you do a climbing test to make sure you can tie knots and belay properly. This test cost money, I think about ten dollars. After you pass the test (if you don't know how to climb yet they give lessons, again for a small price) they will put your name and information in the computer and give you some tags so that you won't have to do the test again. Well this is all good and I'm all for safety. But after I took the test they messed up somehow and my name didn't get put in the computer. So the next time I came they made me take the test and pay for it a second time because the had no record of me in their computer. Well that's fine mistakes happen. But the third time I came THE SAME THING HAPPENED. so I had to take and pay for the test a third time. That is unacceptable in my book. I haven't been back since then but hopefully will return soon. Maybe if they did it right and already have my name in the computer and have me passed off on the test I'll give them their star back. But besides that mess it really is a cool place. The pit is AMAZING and has lots of walls to climb. Not to mention they are constantly rearranging the rocks so you aren't doing the same climbs over and over. The bouldering wall is also great and bigger than most. They also have a full gym wich is snazzy. I've yet to try their yoga classes but they are offered there. I really think that if I go back a few more times and they've fixed the problem mentioned above id consider buying a membership to this gym. read more

We had my sons birthday party here, and it was awesome! They gave us our own walls for climbing, a birthday room with freezer and fridge, and a helper for the whole time. The only things I would say as a slight negative for a birthday party is that it took a while to get all the kids outfitted in the gear, and that I didn't know we needed people to help belay(sp?). I would just recommend having all parents get involved with belaying the kids so that they can all climb as much as possible in the time you have. Also, maybe to the workers, just mention when someone books the party ahead of time that they will need a minute to setup, and that parent volunteers will be needed. ;) Other than that, the staff was super helpful and cheerful. They were patient with our super wild crew, and explained all the steps perfectly! I didn't know that our kids would be able to do it, but many of them made it up to the top multiple times. It seemed like he takes great pride in what he does and made sure I knew what I was doing before starting, which made me feel very secure. Over priced, over priced, over priced. Need I say more? Learn your skills and actually climb outdoors, or maybe at Weber State's free wall, or the Hill Air Force Bases' free wall if you have access. It is a good gym, but in my opinion is taking advantage of the popularity of climbing in Utah and charging WAY too much. The amount they charge for one month of use you could purchase a harness, your very own slackline, a pair of climbing shoes....or even a decent climbing set up. read more

The minute I walked in i felt like I should apologize to the guy behind the counter for bothering him at work. He was rude and acted if i was demanding the world from him. I am a decent rock climber not pro so any question seemed to be causing him physical pain. I payed for a month membership and regret it severely. So if you do get a membership know that they will not teach you anything just point at the boulder wall (15 ft). To train use the 40ft wall its another 25$ a person but you'll have to buy expensive gear to use from them. The gym is not even equipped well it has almost no machines, dumbbells, treadmills. Just because they have a spartan helmet as their logo does not make them hardcore, go to a bootcamp run by a Navy Seal. The other coustomers where just as rude as the staff. If you are obsession is climbing then go to to slc. Ogden's is not only bad its terrible. I wish i could have saved my time and money and known this before hand. read more
