For Easter this year, I decided to do a church crawl. First stop was The Front Church, on recommendation from a friend. When I first put the church into my GPS, I was taken to the wrong location. My bad-I should have paid attention to the address, and I submitted a report to Apple maps to let them know-I'd hate for other people to get lost like I did.
Luckily, I found my way and pulled into the parking lot a few minutes later. I was enthusiastically greeted by several congregation members. They seemed genuinely happy that I was there and introduced me to other folks. I was early enough to attend the pre-worship huddle and hear the group pray together as an observer on the sidelines. The energy was respectful and upbeat.
The space where the service is held is a modest sized auditorium with a stage up front for the band and the speakers. While I was waiting for the service to begin, Pastor Nate noticed me as an unfamiliar attendee and introduced himself. I felt very welcome and appreciate how everyone extended a hand of fellowship and friendship to me when I visited. read more
