As I was walking along the sidewalk in old town Sonoma, I pasted a lot of shops. Many of them were…read moreart galleries with art pieces that didn't interest me. But the framed color photo of a soulful content face painted in a gorgeous shade of blue caught my eye. You can say... I made eye contact. I moved in closer to the shop window to get a better look and the next thing I knew I was walking into the gallery. The Lisa Kristine gallery. Who the heck is Lisa Kristine?! I was thinking this to myself because her photos are pieces of art. The walled photos were beautiful. Mesmerizing photos of places and people in gorgeous foreign lands. Some of the people were from indengious cultures but she captured their joy and pride. Anyway Lisa Kristine I found out is an award winning Humanitarian photographer, activist, and speaker. Her photos and photo books are shown and sold in the gallery and online. The photo books are a more affordable option vs the art photos. Another favorite photo is a black and white of aged weathered hands grasping the flow of running water from a hydraulic manual pump. Gorgeous storytelling in a moment of time photo. Step on into the gallery across from the Sonoma Plaza. Maybe something will catch your eye. #lisakristinephotojournalist #lisakristinephotogallerysonoma

I have this old negative…read more I want to share with everyone the amazing experience I had working with North Bay Silver Lab in Napa CA. I found a 5x7 inch negative while going through my grandmothers belongings after her death. I don't know what it was like to be a small business owner in the 1920's and 30's But my grandparents did. I remember listing to all the stories about Chicago; fighting with the unions, or the power authority when the area went electric. My Grandmother passed away some years back and in going though her belongings I found an old negative. It appeared to be of my grandfather in the machine shop he owned in Chicago. I was surprised to learn how problematic finding someone, Anyone, to make a traditional Black and white print from an 5 x 7 negative. Finely, a friend at work told me to check out North Bay Silver Lab in Napa. I talked to Manual the owner, and he quoted me a fair price and explained the process clearly. When I received my prints back I was stunned, The quality of work was suitable for a museum. My only regret is that I did not have North Bay Silver Lab mount and frame my prints. If you have negatives and you want something that will last generations, You should contact North Bay Silver Lab. I highly recommend!
