Jane's Blue Iris is the kind of flower shop that you dream about but never think it is a reality…read more But it is. Jane's combines artistry with flowers (both real and silk) and never fails to amaze me with the custom designs that they produce. Serving Hinsdale for over 20 years- Jane's is the kind of place where everyone who works there- loves and knows flowers. Their designers create spectacular cut arrangements, using unique flowers that you don't see in other florists. If only they could see the expression of joy when their delivery person shows up at my house with an arrangement for me! They have crafted silk arrangements for my home from centerpieces to front door wreaths and all have exceeded my expectations- especially when I go in with ideas like "I want something like this . . .but I'm not sure . . . .do whatever you think is right". And they do. I have also used them for their container garden designs and planting. Last year a major magazine was doing a photo shoot in my garden and my urns were looking a little tired. Jane's came out- replaced some, and spruced up others to make the garden shine for the shoot. You can also sign up for them to do your containers year round so that seasonally- your urns and planters overflow with beauty. I love flowers, and admire those who can make them even more beautiful than they are on their own. And Jane's Blue Iris does just that.

Unfortunately the last few times have been marginal at best and when we have called to voice our dissatisfaction we have been greeted with marginal customer service to match. Update: I am appalled by the owner's dishonest and unprofessional response. I have documented…read moreevidence that directly contradicts her claims. The "repeated calls" she referenced are inaccurate. My call logs from Mother's Day show I called the shop exactly twice, once to confirm the order and once when it was hours late. For a $100+ delivery, this is reasonable follow-up, not harassment. Regarding today's interaction, after seeing the owner's response to my Google review, I called hoping to have the professional conversation she publicly invited. The call lasted exactly 42 seconds before she began yelling and hung up on me. There was no argumentative tone or abuse on my end, and there was not even enough time for a full sentence. I also find it highly inappropriate and offensive that the owner attempted to publicly attribute 'anxiety' to me. I have never been diagnosed with anxiety by a professional, nor do I have it. Using a baseless claim about a customer's mental health to deflect from a wrong order is a serious overstep and speaks volumes about the business's ethics. The owner, to my knowledge, is a florist; not a psychologist. As for the refund, I never requested one. My concern was receiving the product I paid for. If the refund is being used as justification to avoid accountability, I am willing to return it if that prevents further misrepresentation of the situation. A pattern is also visible in other one-star reviews for this business. When customers raise legitimate concerns, the response tends to focus on attacking their character or claiming they were "yelling" rather than addressing the actual issue with the order. I am keeping this review up to warn others that if there is a problem with an order, it is likely to be met with deflection rather than resolution.
