The Florida Park does conger up some lovely imagery and could really help you forget - temporarily - that you're in dreary Glasgow.
Unfortunately, this doesn't happen. I reckon it's down to the orange Glasgow railway station in easy sight of this place. The decor reinforces the Glasgow feel. By this, I mean there is absolutely nothing wrong with it - the seats are comfy enough and it's clean - but it does definitely have the older Glasgow pub colours (think cream, brown and bits of red here and there kinda like your granny's carpet might have been).
However, this a fairly small local pub in Mount Florida is pleasant. It doesn't have that 'this is a local place, for local people' feel which some similar pubs can have. This has got to be a good sign.
Similarly, it's often fairly quiet so you'll get a good choice of seats; served at the bar ultra quickly and there's no queue in the ladies. Score! Additionally, the prices are very reasonable and it does themed nights (if they're your thing).
So for a local pub, it's pleasant enough and you can easily enjoy a cheeky midweek afternoon pint in peace and comfort. Bliss. read more
