I go to this wonderful venue only once per month but have such a relaxing time I hope to increase…read moremy attendances. I like the steam room, good for my Asthma, I like all the pools, especially the one with the huge fish ready to impale someone (see picture) !! I chat to anyone who will chat back.... I spend three or four sessions in the steam room during the day, topping up my liquids with mango juice or water. I lie flat out in the main pool area and catch up on the news in the dailiies and monthlies available. At 1 pm I go for for lunch, usually the buffet which is superb. Then I have a kip and then after a shower I go back into the steam room for one last time. I go there early morning and leave about 4 pm, feeling good.

Sometimes I take for granted how relaxing this place really is, that is, until I walk outside and…read moreforget where we've left the car. That's partially to do with me going a bit nuts, but I always leave feeling rested, much lighter and incredibly happy. You don't get ultra modern neon-lit eternity pools, but a place where normal people (the ones that appreciate the nice environment that's been created there) can totally chill out. With a separate changing area for members and non-members, there's always a lot of space, secure lockers and hot showers on the way in. Once you get inside robes and sandals are encouraged as everything is quite spread out. My highlights include the giant tepidarium, containing 33 ceramic loungers heated to approx. 35 degrees to soothe the entire body. Each lounger has its own head phone socket, so you can bring your headphones and relax to your choice of music. There's also two large pool, a 49 seat spa pool with massage jets, a hydrotherapy flotation tank (with over 1.5 tonnes of salt in!) and an aromatherapy steam room. Additional things to consider are a fantastic cafe-style restaurant, where you can lounge about and eat. They do the best salads I've had anywhere outside of my home (I just like fresh ingredients and knowing what's gone into something). And the beauty salon does an exclusive range of body butters/scrubs/bath foams in ever changing varieties. I fell in love with the raspberry milkshake 'flavour' a few years ago, and I haven't been disappointed since. My last purchase was angel cake bath melt (a thick bubbling foam) and hot butter fudge shower gel. Oh my. There are three basic ways to go. One, buy a special experience pass (from £65 for entrance, a treatment and 'light supper', upwards). Second, a spa membership ranging from £9 a month for 3 visits a year up to £30 a month for 12 visits, all on top of a £99 joining fee. Or, a combined membership with the MASSIVE Pulse 8 gym across the way (literally a one minute from the spa). It's about £500 (sheesh) joining fee, then £80ish pounds for full come-any-time-you-like membership to gym and spa, then gets less as you strip away visiting at certain parts of the day. Just like most gyms and spas really. Either way, we joined at Christmas time a few years ago. It was on a special offer with no joining fee and one visit per month for £15. Bargain! It pops up at the same each year and often during Summer. I'd recommend holding out for that, because it's SO worth it.

The staff were incredibly helpful, warm and welcoming (shout out to Eugene and Callum) especially since this was my first time. I arrived early with lots of time to spare so spent it in the Chill out room which was really nice but way too small. It already seemed crowded with 3 people in it and a fourth person wanted to come in but decided not to when she saw the people in it. The sci-fi egg-like pods are really sleek and each in their own private room with shower. The actual experience itself wasn't as transformational as I'd hoped as it took me a while to really get into a place of complete relaxation as my mind decided to have a party rather than relax and I felt that it was only the final 15-20 minutes where I could really zone-out and rest my mind. And by then, it was over too soon. The only thing I have an issue with is to use the floating neck guard provided for your head as even if you allow your head to flop onto the water it isn't supposed to stretch that far back. I was conscious of the tension and pain in my neck because of this even whilst using the neck guard in place I knew the first experience wouldn't be as amazing as I hoped but it's definitely piqued my interest and I will return to experience more float sessions.

Don't mind me, the water is filtered after use. So my brother gifted me an isolation chamber experience and it was different and bomb. I would never do this unless goaded and it was über relaxing and good for the body. Basically you enter a private room, shower, put in water proof ear plugs, and nude, you enter a pristine egg shaped pod with lights you control (that ostensibly don't upset your circadian rhythm), and you float in hundreds of pounds of Epsom salts (magnesium) and water for an hour. It decompresses you mentally (you're supposed to count your breaths and reflect forward), detoxifies and fights inflammation. A great way to say cheers to London, I'm so doing this locally now. Since I'm the first to review let me add, the staff was gracious and welcoming, patiently explained the process and invited us to have tea before and after our appointment. Typically you go to the cHill Out room for silk sachet teas and ponder your silence which you've newly discovered after experiencing the isolation chamber. There's a Hollywood Room with accoutrements to fix your hair and face before you face the world anew.

I do not like to leave bad reviews, but my experience here was uniquely appalling…read more There was no-one there when I turned up for my appointment - the assistant eventually turned up an hour later and said the manager had had to go to a meeting. She said they had made an alternative arrangement, so took me to another flotation centre, getting lost on the way. When we got there, there turned out to be no such agreement, and they were shocked at having been asked to compensate for CRC's mistake. By this time I had wasted half a day, but they rebooked the appointment, and said I could have another one or two for free if I brought a friend and a gift for Xmas to say thankyou for the free session(s). An odd request, but anyway - I was promised that there would be no errors on my second visit. However despite this, I turned up for the rescheduled appointment a couple of months later and the centre was closed - there were works going on, and they had forgotten to cancel. This represented a further loss of a whole day, and to apologise the manager offered his book about floating, which he seemed to think was adequate consolation. He did not seem to appreciate the irony of giving a book about the benefits of a treatment I was no closer to having, but he insisted that I take it, and I eventually accepted as a gesture of goodwill from him. The appointments were rescheduled yet again, but when the time came they informed me that the works were still ongoing and that the first session wasn't possible but the others should be fine. Then when those came and I checked whether they would take place, I was simply told to watch the website. Obviously after two wasted trips I didn't feel reassured, so phoned to try and get some idea of what was going on - given that it was now over 6 months since I'd paid for the initial appointment. The manager was rude, blaming the payment intermediary ('Time Out'), saying he didn't know when the work would be finished, and repeatedly making out that I had been adequately compensated for my wasted days with his book which I hadn't even wanted. Furthermore, he insisted that their communication had been 'excellent' - despite not telling me on two occasions that my appointment had been cancelled! After saying the call was wasting his time as he had lots of clients to see - seemingly not bothered by the 1 1/2 of days of mine he had already wasted - he then sent a message saying he was arranging a refund (which I hadn't requested) for the first session. When I tried to call again to ask what was going on, the manager started shouting at me and accusing me of harassment when I simply asked what was happening with the remaining sessions. I did not enter into an argument but he then made bizarre personal comments about me, and refused to provide any details of a regulating body that I could complain to. How ironic that such an unprofessional and stress-inducing business calls itself a relaxation centre!
