Having heard so much about floatation tank therapy, I decided to give this a try after a friend…read morebooked me an introductory session on a late weekday evening. The staff were incredibly helpful, warm and welcoming (shout out to Eugene and Callum) especially since this was my first time. I arrived early with lots of time to spare so spent it in the Chill out room which was really nice but way too small. It already seemed crowded with 3 people in it and a fourth person wanted to come in but decided not to when she saw the people in it. The sci-fi egg-like pods are really sleek and each in their own private room with shower. The actual experience itself wasn't as transformational as I'd hoped as it took me a while to really get into a place of complete relaxation as my mind decided to have a party rather than relax and I felt that it was only the final 15-20 minutes where I could really zone-out and rest my mind. And by then, it was over too soon. The only thing I have an issue with is to use the floating neck guard provided for your head as even if you allow your head to flop onto the water it isn't supposed to stretch that far back. I was conscious of the tension and pain in my neck because of this even whilst using the neck guard in place I knew the first experience wouldn't be as amazing as I hoped but it's definitely piqued my interest and I will return to experience more float sessions.

So the one star off is because I'm still resigned to turn my nose up ever so slightly at steeping…read morein water others have used, but we've all been in pools and the ocean yea? Don't mind me, the water is filtered after use. So my brother gifted me an isolation chamber experience and it was different and bomb. I would never do this unless goaded and it was über relaxing and good for the body. Basically you enter a private room, shower, put in water proof ear plugs, and nude, you enter a pristine egg shaped pod with lights you control (that ostensibly don't upset your circadian rhythm), and you float in hundreds of pounds of Epsom salts (magnesium) and water for an hour. It decompresses you mentally (you're supposed to count your breaths and reflect forward), detoxifies and fights inflammation. A great way to say cheers to London, I'm so doing this locally now. Since I'm the first to review let me add, the staff was gracious and welcoming, patiently explained the process and invited us to have tea before and after our appointment. Typically you go to the cHill Out room for silk sachet teas and ponder your silence which you've newly discovered after experiencing the isolation chamber. There's a Hollywood Room with accoutrements to fix your hair and face before you face the world anew.
