Such a fun place! There are a couple dozen pinball machines, air hockey, pac-man, skeeball, and one of my favorites.... pong! Full bar with some old classic cocktails, beer or just about any drink you would want . Velvet wallpaper and fun changing mood lighting....big beautiful " glass" tree in the middle with seats around it..... a cool touch. A few little areas to sit with a group or a fun date night. My spouse and I went to The Flipside for a local LGBTQ meetup a few days ago. We'd never been but on Mondays they have $15 unlimited play (except for a couple machines) until 11pm which is really cool. We really enjoyed ourselves and had fun playing pinball plus some retro arcade games; their Pong game is interesting and seems to be magnetic analog, not a digital game. It's very loud and can feel crowded at times but that's not a big deal to us. I definitely would like to go back sometime. read more

This is a great find if the adults in your group need a super cocktail and the children need games. I looked in the window before it opened and when my daughter suggested it, my 5 year old grandson was with us, I thought ok maybe a few bottled beers and cheap drinks. Was I ever wrong! The drink menu is fabulous, tasty, upscale. Be warned m: You can drop a weeks paycheck getting quarters but it is so worth it. I'm giving this place at 3 stars because first impressions are pretty important when going to a new location and especially for recommendations. We pass flipside heading to a different bar and decided later to go back because it aesthetically looked really interesting. We wound up going in and I loved the theme, the atmosphere, and even the concept of this bar / arcade fun spot. It is a location that is for all ages, so if you plan to be getting anything at the bar you have to get a "21 and over bracelet". I am strictly writing this review based off our experience that then later made me realize that this place is most likely not the place for us. As we were checking out this neat new type of bar (it is different and unique) there were people of all ages playing arcade games). They had several rooms with different types of games so we began to explore to check it out before we ordered something to drink. When we entered into a different room all of a sudden a man comes out of nowhere, wasted as all get-out at only 7:30 p.m. at night, and reached for my husband's crotch trying to grope him. The woman in his party grabbed him and was physically struggling to yank him back telling him to stop. He was belligerently drunk and very physical. In the background there were children playing and this man was out of control. While the facility is not accountable for this man's behavior, and I fully recognize that, the all-age friendly atmosphere isn't as safe once I thought about it. It is strictly a bar which encourages an atmosphere to drink. There is no food (only popcorn snacks) which makes the place really just a glorified bar , but potentially really unsafe for kids/families. I would not come back because of the experience. Not that we might encounter this event again, but because I would be constantly observing people who are drinking and watching for the safety of the kids. I would, however, totally never bring my children because of the possibility of this happening again. read more

This place is absolutely ridiculous! I was pregnant and the bartender targeted us and said that we were "too drunk" to drink! I finally found a place I could have fun being sober while my friends drink and the bartender sat there saying we are cut off for "wobbling out the bathroom". So much fun! And kudos to whomever selected the late '90's early 2000's club mix that was playing, it was a fantastic nostalgic experience in so many ways. The Flipside meshed together my childhood games with my young adulthood music, and I was able to share that all with my tween. Obviously the atmosphere is a little more grown up, but it still has the vibrancy and fun of our youth. The staff were so welcoming and kind, the facility was clean. I've been to several bar arcades throughout northern Colorado, and this by far is the best! From the variety of games (my new fave is Jubeat, it's like DDR for your hands!), to the variety of drinks (between the local beer on tap, amazing mixed drinks, and canned wine/seltzer there is something for everyone!), to the size/layout of the place (awesome small lounge areas to just hangout), to the variety of free snacks available (see photo!). Possibly the best mixed drinks on 4th St. We ride out bikes downtown, kids love the games and adults enjoy a cocktail or two. Awesome staff and a clean environment. Oh, and free snacks! We came during COVID they had "pods" sent up with about 4 games each in them and you chose one pod for about a hour. We did the Ski Ball and Pin Ball pod and had a great time! I can't wait to go back when they can open 100% and play all the games. read more

This was a cool find during our unexpected night out in downtown Loveland!! Fun barcade with a full bar that allows under 21 aged patrons as well. They have pinball, skeeball, a hockey version of foosball, Pacman, air hockey and some other games that I can't recall. I like that they have a full bar and several good beers on tap (left hand milk stout on nitro!!) with some areas to sit and hang out; I noticed there is complimentary self-serve water, popcorn & pretzels offered to the side of the bar, which is a nice touch. Friendly staff and beer/alcohol is reasonably priced. The lack of a 5th star for me is because the sink in the bathroom is operated by motion-sensor and is NOT intuitive at all, which made it difficult to wash my hands effectively. There were 2 other females in the bathroom at the same time as myself and NEITHER of them even bothered to try and wash their hands! I'm not sure if this stems from lack of personal hygiene standards or the sink; gross either way though, and yeah don't think people don't notice your gross habits in public places. Keeping in mind this is an arcade so the spreading of germs seems more likely here, I'd like to see some automatic hand sanitizer dispensers strategically placed. I don't think staff disinfects the knobs, etc. throughout the night. On that note, I swear I'm not a germophobe... I'd definitely come back (and will bring my own pocket-sized hand sanitizer) read more

There's a restaurant in Seattle, WA that decided to charge men an 18% surcharge because they were men. After a few months of this idiocy they announced that they're closing their doors. Apparently the Flipside subscribes to a similar philosophy. One of my sons was having a drink with friends. When he tried to talk to one of the bartenders, she called him a misogynist and told him to leave. Not wanting to push a bad situation, he did. The next day he was irritated at the way that he had been treated, so he went back, lodged a complaint with one of the managers and said that he felt he was owed an apology. They told him that they would check out the situation. He returned a few days later with his 2 young daughters and when he asked about the status of his complaint, the manager (who was not present when the original event occurred) accused him of making lewd remarks to the bartender and making people feel uncomfortable. My son told him straight out that claims that he made lewd remarks were a bold faced lie and that he was not responsible for other people feeling uncomfortable about him. The manager responded by telling him that he WAS responsible for the feelings of others and told him that he was no longer welcome there. So much for the customer always being right. My advice is that if you want to go somewhere to have fun, this likely isn't the place for you. If you want to go somewhere to be yourself, this likely isn't the place for you. If you aren't concerned how other's feel around you, this definitely isn't the place for you. ...and if anyone working in this place makes you feel uncomfortable, don't ever expect an apology. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In response to Kevin's retort, Kevin, if you were there, you were hiding (big surprise), but you just made my point. I came back around Halloween to give it another try. Didn't drink this time. It's still fun to play pinball but this time of year they do the zombie crawl so people are going from bar to bar drinking and some are pretty gone by the time they reach the Flipside. There were kids in there and very intoxicated adults at well after 9 pm. I'm thinking their business would benefit if they only allowed kids until a certain time. Like after 10 pm 21+ only. Maybe more adults would feel comfortable to come here and drink if they knew children weren't going to be there eyes ears and all. read more

The Flipside is absolutely the best arcade around, for a number of reasons. First, it is fun! The owners really get it. From the free snacks to the decor (including googly eyes on pinball machines), the whimsical signs, the TV entertainment, the themed events -- everything is clever and well-thought-out. Second, it is clean and well-maintained. Almost all of the machines work perfectly every day, and the place is spotless. Finally, it is great for adults and kids both. I can enjoy a beer while playing, and there will be dozens of kids around, but I don't feel like I'm being overrun by rugrats. My family and I just returned from an adoption party here and it was so fun! What a wonderful venue! When we walked in there is this huge, magical lit up electric tree with a clean and modern bar behind it. The place smelled clean and was very clean. The pinball games were all working and there was a wide range of choices to play. Also there were no images on the walls or in the games that were too risky for kids. This would be a great place for any private adult party as they have a fully stocked bar and lots of lounging areas and very affordable. What a great addition to downtown Loveland! read more
