Set up in a faux-derelict manner (behind the bar is the only modern aspect to the place), it owes a lot to Melbourne's hipster-chic scene, from the boutique beer selection to the fantastic DJ sets and impromptu dance floor. The atmosphere is great, friends and completely without any of the confrontational attitudes that plague... well.. just a bout every other bar in Newcastle. Only minus is that the license is only til midnight. The host live gigs and other performances in the small venue upstairs and also have a rooftop beer garden (as I said: "Melbourne") which is now open from lunchtimes at the weekends throughout the Summer.
