For me personally, German is a food that is best in its authentic state. For a long time, Australian's have twisted German food more times than Oma twists her pretzels. But have no fear, if you want authentic German food, that is on par with the many Restaurants I tried in Germany, then Oma's is for you. Upon entry, I was greeted by a lovely lady in traditional German attire. She was simply more bubbly than champagne on a scale of 1 to Moet. She started my dining experience by offering a free pretzel with the first 500ml beer purchased. I think most readers can guess the outcome of this offer. I ordered the goulash, but I should've have ordered the pork nuckle. The german stew was nice, but lacked the full flavour I had hoped for.
Overall Oma's is a fantastic authentic German restaurant. The pretzel was freshly baked, the beer went down more quickly than the latest Facebook rocket and the thing I liked most about this restaurant is I want to go back. There's at least 4 other dishes I want to try, not including the share platters. read more
