Sorry to say I was very disappointed with the work that Suzanne did. I have had my brows cosmetically tattooed twice before seeing Suzanne, once in the UK when I lived there and one in New Zealand. I was hesitant about getting them done once I arrived at her studio, but as she had a good review on here I thought she must be good. The work she shows on her flashy website also had me convinced. The studio was very dark and at the back of a hair dressing salon (it was 6pm in winter), she only had a spot light to see what she was doing. The room she worked in was not clean, she has a dog and it was clear to see the dog makes itself at home wherever it likes, including the chair she invited me to sit on - everything had white dog hair on it. When you are allergic to animal fur like me it isn't ideal. The dog was very nervous of visitors too. She offered me a glass of water, which she told me to "hurry up and drink". The table she asked me to lie on was so cheap and wobbly I thought it might collapse.
On to the work: Suzanne decided to not remove the pencil I had put on my brows during the day, so she didn't have a proper look at them before she began her work. She simply pencilled more onto them and asked me what I thought - hard to tell in a dimly lit room when I had my original pencil already on them. Again at this point I should have said no thank you and left. She decided that the outline of my brows needed to be done with her hand tool WITHOUT anaesthetic. She said this is because the topical anaesthetic causes brows to swell. I can honestly tell you that neither of the other cosmetic tattoo specialists I have seen have ever used this approach. Once she had completed the (very painful) outline, she then applied a topical anaesthetic and began to work on my brows. Having had them done before, I know to expect that you have a small amount of sensation, but usually not enough to cause pain. I was in pain significantly throughout the procedure. She then commented on how "your brows are very difficult and the pigment won't take". What I realised upon leaving the salon is she had actually cut my skin with her hand tool, therefore created a wound, it was no wonder the pigment wouldn't take, my skin was bleeding!! She even commented on the fact my skin was bleeding implying that was also my fault! When I left and she asked for payment, she tried to over charge me. The website said $450, she asked for $550. If I hadn't corrected her, she would have taken $550 without question. The post procedure advice she gave me was to wipe my brows with wipes every hour that night, then once a day the next couple of days. This is because she had created open wounds that were bleeding and weeping, she didn't want me to get an infection. She didn't provide any post procedure after care either. She had "run out" of wipes, and had no healing ointment to give to me. She suggested I have a hot bath that night as I had a sports massage that morning. Anyone who has had their brows tattooed before knows that water, heat, steam etc causes your tattoo to prematurely flake off meaning the pigment won't take at all. The results after 4 weeks were appalling. The lines that had taken were too thick, the rest had no pigment at all. Trying to book a follow up appointment with her to correct that fault work was difficult too. She offered only one appointment that I couldn't make. When I emailed her to ask for alternatives, she didn't reply at all. Very unprofessional.
Thankfully since then I have had a recommendation for an exceptional artist who has been trained in the very latest techniques. All of her clients are recommended by word of mouth. I have had one treatment with her, which didn't hurt at all. I was given proper after care instructions and ointment. Even though it has only been 10 days since I have had them done, then already look amazing! This is before the colour has properly come through and before my second top up treatment. No bleeding, no pain! She even managed to correct the grey colour that Suzanne had put in, and even out the thick lines to make them more natural.
Suzanne is unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone goes to her studio. I don't usually write reviews, but felt I wanted to save others from wasting their time and money, when they could see someone who will get it right the first time.
