Wanted to give a huge shout out to the crew at EO Inn. Me and my wife had a block of 10 rooms for our wedding this month. The manager and every staff member was beyond kind, courteous, and professional. Any request was met with a smile including a room change for one in our party. They even placed a towel animal kissing swans in our room and dimmed the lights for our arrival after the ceremony. Thank you for making our stay an amazing one!

My experience was in Room 204. The phone had no power or phone line; it was just sitting on the nightstand. Lots of rust visible everywhere. Filthy carpet. Holes in ceiling and walls. Rotted wood doors. Leaking plumbing under sink. Room 204 had a missing smoke detector, and we found that the window latches were unlocked and didn't function. I'd consider these critical safety risks. Very sloppy.

The one star is not deserved. Sheets were stained, I feared for bed bugs or other creatures in the outdated room. TV didn't work, tiles in bathroom coming up, no toilette paper, and view faces parking lot of a school. After having it there all day, I left in my car and met a friend back at the hotel, and we went inside for 45min max and my car got towed. The worker said the tow trucks comes every 2 hours but the tow driver said she ordered it towed. I'm in an Uber to pay for it myself because the manager cannot be contacted. After 9pm your on your own, don't loose your card and don't have sex. They get mad and slam doors after they listen and talk smack. Lawsuit . Shouldn't lie

Due to my love of history in this building, and the immense amount of potential I know is there, I really wanted to give this place another try. I did enjoy my stay more this time! Not to be rude, but if I'm honest, It was nice to be there in this beautiful building, minus the negative energy of the grumpy older desk woman whom I've had no positive interaction with. When you are made to feel rushed when inquiring on the history, it just really takes the air out of visiting a historical property. I was a little put off, and that is why I did not give them four stars, when I called. The woman who answered the phone made it seem initially as if I could not check in, and it was like 9:45pm. They don't close until midnight according to their website and Yelp. When I let her know plate leave that I was made aware through reading reviews from prior yelp visitors, they were able to check in via a late check in policy through a lockbox, She backtracked a bit, then said she guesses that she could send a hotel employee down there to put a key in the box. Our room was nice, my son was very excited that it had a Roku TV. Everything seemed pretty tidy, not overtly sanitized or anything, but tidy. The bed and the pillows in this room though, I must say, the pillows are very in need of replacing, kind of flat, absolutely nothing as to what she would expect a nice Inn. The blankets could be a bit more fluffy and inviting, maybe that's just a personal preference, but my opinion. I hope within my next visit, as I'm sure I'll stay at this beautiful property again, that I'm able to give this place a full five stars. I know they have it in them, I really do.

This is a pretty cool location. I don't review hotels but I came here for an outdoors Sound Healing event, and even though the location is prime and the space is beautiful, they weren't prepared for some good old Florida rain water and we ended up in a weird little room, which made the experience less enjoyable and less relaxing. But the ability to improvise gets props, and like I said, the place is really cool, has many spaces for relaxation, and it's very central.

This place was actually perfect for me for the price. It was 30-50% cheaper than comparable options in Downtown Orlando and more central than anything offered on AirBnB. It is in a great location as it is easily walkable to downtown, The Milk District, and Thornton Park and a short Uber from the Baldwin Park area. It is a boutique hotel so if you are looking for a large room then this might not be a great fit for you. As a few of my pictures show it also has some wear and tear - I point this out not as a complaint but just as reference because I know some people care about such things. But the place was clean and secure. I have read some other people have had issues with the Key App - I got in early so my key wasn't downloaded yet but I call the customer service line and she texted me directions on how to get into the safe that has the physical plastic keys. The other bonus is it sits right on top of a wonder craft brewery - Persimmon Hollow Brewery - so you have a great beer/wine and food option just downstairs! I did have some minor issues with the TV (the remote didn't work great) and the WiFi (the signal was weak and it didn't appear to have enough bandwidth to stream). But other than that it was a great stay - I would recommend to any single traveler or couple looking for an affordable stay right off Lake Eola.

Ok... where to begin. I stayed here one night checked in late around 11pm. Apparently they close at midnight so if you have a late arrival, better book somewhere else. The room is ok, a/c was cold, ceiling fan was a nice touch which you don't find in many hotels, bed was ok but pillows were pretty flat. It was fine for me as only needed a few hours of shut eye... All that being said... I'm not very picky when it comes to hotels except for one thing... cleanliness. This is by far the dirtiest hotel I've stayed in, and I've stayed in some pretty low key hostels. If a bunch of college age travelers using shared bath facilities can keep a cleaner facility than this place, than it comes down to poor and careless management. There was mildew in the shower, dust and hair on bedside my table, visible dust/dirt on the carpet, crusty stains, etc. The lady at the desk was very friendly, but judging by others with previous posts commenting on the same (which I should have read first) they don't seem to take cleaning/upkeep very seriously. Some simple Lysol, pledge, and a vacuum cleaner could solve some of it. A coat of paint or two wouldn't hurt but that part really doesn't bother me. Anyhow, I will not be staying here again, which is unfortunate as location is great and this hotel has a lot of potential.

Putty in the bathroom towel rack.

Sigh. Ok... so, I was in town for one night and instead of the usual stay at x hotel I thought, let's check out a new place...unfortunately, that backfired a bit. I'll dive in with...paper thin walls. I heard people walking through the hallway at 3am...as well as doors shutting all through the night. In pretty sure I heard my neighbors making love as well. Like, for real...they came into their room a little later than 3am and woke me up with their loud talking...then I heard them breathing heavy and making grunting noises. No dirty talk, luckily, but I was in between my sleep hearing these fools next door getting busy. That should never happen at a hotel. Now they do offer free bottles of water - that was a nice perk. And the front desk staff was super nice. Like exceptionally nice and really the main reason that I even bumped it up to 2 stars. Back to the bad....the bathroom had patches of putty where they had repaired the wall.....but never repainted it. How hard is it to add a fresh coat? It wasn't like a little patch, it was a pretty noticeable patch. The hallways also had A LOT of visable wear and tear....and another putty patch. Come on man, just paint it. Location is nice though. Right in downtown across from lake eola. Parking was free. The lot is super small and can be tricky to park, but we did fine. Back to the bad....The bed- pretty sure the frame was broken as the right side pretty much sunk down almost to the floor. I had to sleep on the left - but it was a teeter totter effect with my wife all night as I tossed and turned, I felt like I was about to launch her into the TV. Plus the pillows were pretty stiff. Overall the rooms were pretty small, and while they did offer a nice balcony, we didn't use it on our stay. I don't think I'll be coming back on future trips....they have a lot of housekeeping items (wear and tear) to take care of, and the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've slept in.

    Wow!
    Crystal R.

Definitely did a great job of hosting us in the middle of a pandemic. I would definitely stay in the room where you have access to the balcony, which is simply breathtaking. I also fell in love with the bathtub, which is something I dream about now. The bed alone will have you wishing you never left it. This Boutique Hotel is in the perfect location, which is situated across Lake Eola. Definitely 5 starts for taking the necessary precautions, during such a fragile time in our society.

    Interesting sink placement

I really wanted to live this place because it has so much potential of the owner would just invest a little bit of TLC. Firstly, the location is 5/5. It's right off Lake Eola (gorgeous) in a beautiful historic building and there is Persimmon brewery conveniently located within the same building which is also a win because (craft beer/food duh) We checked in pretty late and had no real issues. We were granted 1 key and no Wi-Fi passcode but ultimately obtained it after going back downstairs as no one answered the front desk from the room. The ambiance is so cute unique. I was very hopeful. Carpets are stained and need to be replaced. My boyfriend was suffocating from Fabuloso but I guess I'd rather that than pure funk? 2nd deck patio was adorable but furniture was ripped and dirty. Our room was no frills. peeling paint, worn out frayed carpet, and rust on all things metal including door frames. The ac which may have been white at one time was yellow. Door frames were peeling and damaged from mold. Towels were provided but were missing a few. Unique artwork on the wall-no name brand tv, and flattened pillows. Bed was firm but comfy and linens seemed to be very clean. Shower was a challenge as in I couldn't turn it on and it seemed to be an afterthought as there were nozzles on the other side of the shower that only had 1/2 and one was just a hunk of rust. I did see another room this morning being cleaned, however and it did look quite nice and updated...maybe we just got the oldest room? Also, the walls are kind of thin but in an old place that is to be expected. They also did have a better than most places breakfast area with bagels, donuts, apple and orange juice. Cereal, fresh apples, and danishes were options as well. And several keurig coffee options along with bottled water. I really wish I could give this place more stars, but I just can't unfortunately. Maybe the owner will invest one day into tweaking the little things because this place really could be a 5 with a little more effort

We were able to go out and about without worrying about driving, which made the trip even more enjoyable. The hotel was easy to find, and parking is conveniently located right across the street with simple in-and-out access (though, of course, there is a parking fee -- which is never fun). Inside, the hotel is very clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff was accommodating throughout our stay. Our room was on the fifth floor, which I actually prefer when staying in a city -- the higher up, the better to avoid street noise. One of my favorite features of Embassy Suites is the room layout. The separation between the living room and bedroom is ideal, especially if someone wants to rest while others are still awake. The rooms have consistently been clean and feel very homey. Everything was great -- until Sunday morning. This is a dog-friendly hotel, which we love since we bring our dog and take her on walks so she's not stuck inside all weekend. However, checkout morning was pure chaos. One of the two elevators was out of service, it was peak checkout time, and there was also a princess pageant event happening, so the hotel was much busier than usual. Trying to get downstairs with my dog was extremely frustrating. I looked for stairs but wasn't sure if they were alarmed. When I asked an employee to confirm, she looked at me like I had five heads, which didn't help my already thin patience (I definitely did not have enough coffee for that situation). I eventually just went downstairs. Coming back up was even worse -- the line for the single working elevator was ridiculous. When I asked the front desk about the stairs, I was told they were accessible from outside. I didn't realize I needed my key card to re-enter through the outdoor stairwell (which makes total sense -- I was just aggravated at that point). After going back inside and trying again, I ended up walking up five flights of stairs with my dog. Thankfully, we had requested a late checkout, so we avoided the absolute peak of the chaos. Our friends on the third floor ended up carrying their luggage down the stairs because waiting for the elevator wasn't worth it. Unfortunately, being on the fifth floor with a lot of luggage, that wasn't really an option for us. Aside from that stressful morning, we really enjoyed our stay. The complimentary evening happy hour with drink tickets and small bites is always a highlight. We also had breakfast on Saturday morning -- and honestly, the breakfast is a major deciding factor whenever we choose to stay at a Hilton. Overall, a great stay with one very frustrating checkout experience.

I have stayed at many resorts in Universal and I just have some mixed feelings about this…read moreparticular one. Check in, took 30+ mins long and we checked in online, but the online check desk was closed, which seemed odd. There were tons of people that were from out of town that looked tired, especially after going through airport securities/travel from their states and looked like they just wanted to get their room and go to sleep, but it seemed that there was no urgency from staff. They didn't look short staffed, but I saw other staff standing around with no lines at their kiosk with multiple areas for them to step in at check in- Which tells me that there needs to be some cross training encouraged to help their processing. Fun Fact: I rode two rides at Universal with my fast pass faster than checking in to our room. Room was clean, view was nice. We stayed on the top floor with the view of one of the pools, which was nice but I had not so much of a good first night due to the AC in the room not working properly and I'm a hot sleeper so I did not sleep well. I did address the issue in the morning and let the staff know about my issue and that I was gonna be gone for the day and they did fix my issue right away. The food was surprisingly mediocre, and they have four different restaurants you can eat from and we went to three of them, which seems to be the same style of food just spread out. The first night I had a Smashburger it looked very delicious, but then I found myself putting on basic ingredients on my burger, salt and pepper. If I did not, it would have not had any seasoning. The second night I went to the Brazilian steak eatery and as far as a quick steak to get, it was very delicious and they serve it with mashed potatoes and gravy, which was really delicious. I would recommend eating your meals at least for dinner there if you're going to eat in the in the resort. If you're looking cocktails, they have them and they're very delicious. Prices are high, but you get a quality drink. I think I just had a bad experience. I don't feel that everybody encounters what I encountered when they visit, but I would have given a 3 star rating if it wasn't for how convenient it is to get to the park, there's a shuttle that picks you up every 10 minutes and drops you off and when you're done at the park, it picks you up and takes you right back to the hotel. Beats paying $50 a day for parking at the parks, but you still have to pay for parking with your room which is significantly less. All-In-all it was good, but not great for my experience, I will probably attend a different resort next time, but as a local in Florida, we have that choice.

Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a vibrant, retro-themed, 1950s-60s Florida beach vibe hotel…read more * Amazing amenities keep kids entertained without leaving the resort: two huge pools (one with a fun dive-tower waterslide and splash areas, the other with a winding lazy river and sandy beach zone), Galaxy Bowl (10-lane bowling alley with restaurant), Game-O-Rama arcade, outdoor fire pits for s'mores, and a retro gym. * Excellent location -- direct walking entrance to Volcano Bay water park, plus free shuttles/walking paths to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk. Early park admission (one hour early) is a big perk for beating crowds. * Casual dining works well for families: Bayliner Diner food court (burgers, pizza, etc.), poolside bars/snacks, Starbucks, and retro shakes/malts. Things to consider: * The resort is massive (over 2,000 rooms), so it can feel crowded and chaotic, especially at pools, food court, and bus areas during peak times. * No full sit-down restaurant -- everything is quick-service or casual. * Bowling, some rentals (e.g., inner tubes), and extras add fees. Overall, Cabana Bay excels as a fun, budget-friendly base for families focused on Universal parks and on-site activities, especially with kids who love pools, bowling, and retro vibes.
