They had a wide variety of rare succulents, cacti and some basic house plants. Very unique plant shop as you can pick up full grown cactus to succulent propagation leaves. Have questions about soil or why your current plant is in bad health? Don't worry, they have answers for that. Need to make a custom bag of soil? That's also handled. I picked up some great plants and will be returning to this local shop in the near future.

I stood in line not moving for 20 minutes and when I noticed there were 2 other employees in the store I asked the cashier if they could come help check and she got very rude about it. One employee was sitting on her lazy rear end in the office. None of them were in proper uniform. I was a manager at dollar general in Oklahoma and dollar general policy is if there are 3 people in line you call another employee to come jump on a register. The customer service in this store was awful I did call corporate. I also noticed the store is very cluttered and not clean. You can't get down aisles. I won't be back.

The Filling Station (TFS) Bookstore is inside Chooselife Church in Hobbs, NM…read more There are hardly any other book stores in Hobbs so this was exciting for me to visit - even if said texts were based exclusively on Christianity and faith. I went here on 2.27.2025 with the intention of purchasing a New King James Version (NKJV) Bible. They definitely had some in their cute locker display - actual lockers that open up nicely and were labeled. However, what they had was not quite what I wanted. One was a huge Bible. It was not comfortable to hold. Another had teeny tiny lettering that my 42-year-old eyes could not handle for long. Lol. So after poring over the rest of the book section, I waved over the friendly young lady who welcomed me to check me out. When she realized they didn't have what I wanted, she recommended me to Hobby Lobby. (A "I could've had a V8" moment.) I purchased a book called "The Grace of Healing: Revealing God's Heart to Heal" by Bob Yandian ($29.39). It has been refreshing and helpful for me. Yandian gets straight to the point, but in thoughtful ways. Go check the bookstore out & eat at their cafe even if you don't attend the church. It is swanky cool inside! Here's a link to their Google page which is separate from the church page *hint hint* Yelp since you made changes to my suggestion: https://maps.app.goo.gl/7G8hVnHFpoujYo2aA

For my mom's Mother's Day gift, I went to Cactus Bloom Boutique…read more This shop is surprisingly large. You can't miss it on Main Ave in Lovington, NM. There's ample street parking all around. My daughters and I were warmly greeted by two busy employees on May 9, 2026. There were new gift items predominantly in the front surrounding the checkout area. But there is also a vintage (not quite yet antique) room with an entrance slightly behind the registers. Then the rest of the shop has multiple booth spaces of individual sellers. Their items range from new to old. Fashionable to collectible. I really like their jewelry counter, although, I wasn't there to shop for myself. My youngest daughter bought me a beautiful set of earrings from one of the back booths. They are precious! For my mom, I knew she would love a new candle. The Superstar scent ("Calabrian bergamot, white copra, mimosa blossom, rose buds, solar jasmine, davana, cedar, sandalwood, and musk") by Tyler Candle Company smelled amazing. I also bought a jar of Cactus Bloom-made sweet/salty pecans as well as a jar of salsa for her. My future sister-in-law finds jewelry pieces here that she loves, so I know I'll be back.

EDIT: so I tried to create a page just for the mural and Yelp didn't like that. I don't use tobacco…read moreor vape, so I created a public art page that said, Tobacco and Vape #3 Mural. The Yelp gods did not accept that. In Hobbs, New Mexico, there are a few different smoke shops referred to as Tobacco and Vape. The mural that I am about to discuss is on the outer wall at Tobacco and Vape #3, so I put that in the title when I added this Yelp page. You will see this large outdoor painting straight across from Albertsons Market. Even driving by you'll see it. It was created by local (Lovington) artist Doc Rios and features "two iconic hip-hop figures wearing sunglasses and smoking, highlighted with green accents." Who are the iconic figures you ask? I'll add photos when I get up early tomorrow since too many cars were in my shot, but they are... da da da da da ("The Next Episode") Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. aka Snoop Dogg. And a man who was killed for no good reason, Christopher George Latore Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G... Biggie Smalls. So Snoop represents West Coast rap. Biggie definitely rep'd the East Coast. On the mural, I cannot overlook the placement of these figures, both smoking with calm facial expressions. Snoop is on the left (West Coast) while Biggie is on the right (East Coast). Biggie had an album called "Life After Death." When I first saw this mural I said that look left to right because Snoop was and still is alive yet Biggie was dead. Am I trying to make Hobbs cool? Uh huh. This artwork is pretty cool if I say so myself. All these little Gen Z and Generation Alpha kids try to tell me their music is "tuff." You weren't even alive in 1992! "It's like this, and like that, and like this, and uh... So just chill, 'til the next episode." Works Cited https://wxllspace.com/w/doc-rios/tobacco-and-vape-3
