Staying at a nearby hotel and wanted some proper coffee. This coffee shop appears on a bunch of lists so I gave it a try. Went back 3 more times! Absolutely worth it. Here's the perspective of an American who likes independent 3rd wave coffee shops:
* smooth coffee: the "Elephant Flat White" and cold brew were excellent.
* the "Orange cold brew" was cold brew and OJ! Interesting, not terrible. Not my thing, though.
* pastries were across-the-board excellent. The cookies were big and gooey inside. The croissants flaky. The canales thick inside. The more elaborate pastries (tried eclairs and green tea cake) were all spot on.
Service was professional and attentive. English is spoken adequately. Staff is polite. Order at counter and items brought to table.
Pleasant space. Nice patio.
More practically, they are (1) open earlier than most coffee shops that open at 9am on a weekday or later, and (2) they are open Sundays.
