I wish I had seen this restaurant during the day. It looked beautiful.

Talk about a great place. If you are heading to Bethel Woods, make sure you stop! The preserve backs up to a small lake and stream. It was gorgous! The family stopped in for appetizers and drinks. Gas fireplace and player piano created a very romantic environment. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had happy hour fare - pulled beef sliders, pate, and seafood dip - perfect for happy hour! I strongly recommend the espresso martini! It was delicious! I can't wait to visit again during the day. Sullivan county needed a great restaurant like this!

This is for the lounge area dining. Delicious onion soup, steaks, sliders and spring rolls in a rustic setting. Would like to try the main dining room.

Ardmore Mansion - Beautiful grounds for an outdoor wedding with plenty of grassy space for guests to enjoy.

The interior is gorgeous with ornate fireplaces, beautiful moldings and polished wooden floors. The ballroom is somewhat small, but has a wrap-around porch that guests can wander onto. The venue photographs beautifully. The outdoor spaces are not landscaped: it's pretty much grass fields and paved paths. There are structures (outdoor stages, etc) from the former summer-camp scattered around the property. Cocktail hour food is sub-par; consisting of mostly fried selections. I have not attended an event that included 'stations' which suggests that they are cost prohibitive as an add-on to catering packages. There is only one small bar during cocktail hour, so a line forms almost immediately. Dinner entrees are similarly uninspired, consisting of meat, potato and a frozen vegetable blend. The vegetarian entree choice seems to be pasta ..or pasta. The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the event hosts are charming, but the deficiencies in food and drink need to be addressed. The rooms in the mansion are small, with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. However, the rooms are not air conditioned, which can be uncomfortable. There is no staff on the premises after the event ends, even if rooms/cabins are booked with overnight guests. For Summer 2012, room prices were approximately $150/night. Cabin accommodations are fairly rustic, but significantly cheaper than rooms in the mansion. I have not attended an event in the 'barn' but it seems like a unique venue. Overall, Ardmore is a reasonably priced, beautiful venue for hosting an event, which this area desperately needed. However, food and beverage service and accommodations need improvement.

I didn't get much of a look outside either time, because of bad weather. The parking lot is well laid out though. There are two long tows of spots on either side of the main entrance. Then there are more spaces further away. My first visit was remembered by a frenzy to get drink refills, because they ran out of glasses. So we were served cocktails in rocks glasses. But, the service was given with a smile and there was nothing else notably bad. My second visit started out very good. They even had enough glasses during cocktail hour. But then the groom asked me about what I ordered looking very worried. The manager never took note that a few dishes had to be gluten free. They made up for that with a big tray of gluten free brownies by dessert. Plus, the dinners were served gluten free. One thing I really hope they improve is the table service. My server served the dish and then circled the table looking for empty plates to remove. She even stood over us asking if we were finished while others were still eating at the table. We began asking each other to watch our plates. If you looked away your plate was taken! Then when I needed a lemon wedge for my fish my requests for attention were ignored. The best feature of the venue is their staircase. Its the first one you notice when you enter through the main entrance. The big beautiful window at the top makes it look vast.

The room had a lot of little extras that were really cool like a heated towel rack and floor in the bathroom. It's right on a little stream/thing. Plus you can walk to their private lake if you want more water time. One of the workers told me that you can borrow a boat in the summertime, but we were too early for that. This would be a great place to go if you want to feel fancy or if you want to give someone the gift of feeling fancy. Customized continental breakfast was part of the room price. Pictures include dinner over at the restaurant. You will be tempted to buy the fresh cinnamon raisin bread and then you will be disappointed that it gets stale so fast but then you will know to create French toast with it when you get home and all your disappointment will flee!

Never put a toe in there. Major pool construction; upon arrival told it would be open and were given hours; then today "it will be open by this afternoon" and then later this afternoon, any staff to be found said, "oh god no-it's not going to be open at all today." (8:40) NOTHING is open on Tuesdays or Wednesdays- we unfortunately learned. Did we make a reservation at the apparent restaurant that we have never seen or been able to get into? Yes we did. It was an 8 o'clock reservation. Was the restaurant actually open that evening? No. Communication? NON- EXISTENT. ATM? In-room coffee machines? Actual shuttle conversation morning of to confirm: "there is no room- it is booked; it is full." We responded with "we confirmed this in March and again this week." NO SOLUTIONS to make it better. For any of this. "Sorry." At 6:25 pm at the event we get a call. "Hey the shuttle is ready!" We had already been there for two hours. We could NEVER in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. What a deeply unwelcoming, confusing, inaccessible experience. The only thing that works here is the warm and sweet housekeeping folks and the toilets. The power outage was a massive problem only to be addressed with hostility and shocking indifference. Mind you, this was ONE 24- hour period. Stay away.
