Arepa with cheese
Mike G.

First time to eat at this Egg, although we have enjoyed other locations with similar menus. Food gets a 5, while service gets a 3 today at this spot. We got on the waitlist on our way and were seated soon after we arrived. They must've been short staffed as many tables were empty even though there were several people waiting. Speaking of waiting, we were seated in a back room with only one or two other parties, and then we waited. 10-15 mins later, a guy finally peaked his head in and came over after I waved him down. He was very apologetic. From there, service was better, at least for a while. I got the spinach bacon mushroom omelette with green chili on the side instead of the hollandaise sauce. My wife got the Wisconsin scramble. She got potatoes, while I got the fruit cup. We also both had the English muffin. Having never tried an arepa before, we decided to split one of those with cheese as an extra side. Food eventually came out, and everything was delicious. We hit another service lull after getting our food. Luckily we had extra coffee because we didn't see anyone again until we were done eating. Same with our attempts to get water. I'm sure we'd come back again, mainly because the food was so good. Perhaps the slow service was just a glitch. People were friendly enough...we just didn't see anyone when we needed them.

Visiting town and someone recommended this place for breakfast. Wasn't too crowded for a Sunday morning, took about 15-20 minutes to be seated. Service was very good, no complaints at all. Ordered the burrito, covered in sausage gravy. It was delicious and had more than enough for breakfast the following day.

Waiter was friendly and so nice to accommodate our bloody marys being spicy. Food was the best breakfast in Steamboat we had on our trip. Restaurant had a cake display in front showing off beautifully decorated cakes and cakepops.

Best breakfast and coffee, ever! The food is delicious. The service is friendly and fast. The energy of the restaurant is great and there is ample parking even when it's busy. I had the avocado toast with a few modifications (the server was happy to help) with 2 eggs over medium and it was amazing! I had read a few reviews that said not to order but I'm glad I ordered and was relieved when it was perfect. Drip coffee is great and my sweet server packed me a coffee to go. It was such a pleasant experience!

Create your own omelete: tomato, bacon, and Swiss. With dressed greens and gluten free toast

Huge fan of The Egg! I came here for brunch with some friends and we all loved what we ordered. I created my own omelete with Swiss cheese, bacon, and tomato. It was possibly one of the best I've ever had! The flavors were on point and I appreciated that the bacon was crispy. The dressed greens were fresh and their gluten-free toast was good as it well. Prices are reasonable and the service was great. This was the best meal I had while in town, and I'll definitely be back next time!

Busy spot but amazing food! Waitress provided great service, food came quick and portions were large! Definitely would recommend for breakfast or brunch while in the boat!

This place also offers a limited selection of pastries and also decorated cakes. There are many options on the breakfast and lunch menu, even arepa. The food is on par with other breakfast/lunch restaurants.

Stumbled upon egg on a friday morning around 10am and was seated immediately! we had AMAZING food and a very kind waiter. I was absolutely blown away by the food at this diner style restaurant. the inside wasn't anything to rave about but had ample seating and such good breakfast.

Listen, I am a breakfast connoisseur. I LOVE avocados toast and it is very hard for me to find one that is perfect. This one IS PERFECT in EVERY way! Large helping of avocado and very fresh. Served on a piece of whole grain toast and eggs. The service was prompt and setting was simple and clean. My hubs had biscuits and gravy and these were delicious as well. I HIGHLY recommend "The Egg." Oh and walk past their bakery display and drool at the cinnamon rolls and other scrumptious looking bakery items. I didn't have one but would love to know how delish they were!

Had a nice brunch with my mom at the Egg. The food was out quickly and we enjoyed it very much. A great place for brunch in steamboat!

The food was good, service was friendly. Had a nice breakfast. The hash could have used more chicken, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.

We showed up again the next day about 30 min before close and the staff was super nice and didn't make us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. The beer was ice cold, hot toddy's were customizable and delicious, and burgers were yummy and worth the return trip. I gave this a 4 star only because the sweet potato fries were oddly large, tasteless, and overcooked along with the chili which was incredibly dry and basically inedible. I'm thinking this was because of how late we showed up though so I won't hold that against them. The rest of our visit was amazing so we will definitely be back!

The team mentioned that the special seating was because we had booked so far ahead, which I really appreciated. It was a thoughtful touch that made the night feel even more special. It's a "nicer" restaurant. Most people were dressed pretty nicely, which fits the ambiance - definitely a little more upscale. Most recently, we walked in at 6:30pm on a Saturday and sat down at the bar. For food, We got the bread with butter and the wagyu beef. For the price to portion ratio, I was slightly disappointed with the wagyu. The strips were already sliced and cooked on each side, which I thought was strange. I was expecting to pick a temperature and cut into it myself. The bread was super super super good! Can't go wrong here. Lastly, the cocktails. AMAZING. I had the spicy "mocktail" but added an infused tequila and it was so good. So spicy but it didn't linger, stayed on the lips and mouth, perfect amount of spice. One of the best drinks I've had in a really long time

You'd think the food at a restaurant in a world class resort town would be at least better than mediocre. It wasn't. Now bear in mind, we didn't order one of the many entrees served with mashed potatoes and peppermint demi glaze (there's like 5 entrees with that side). I ordered the half soup, half salad as I wasn't super hungry. My boyfriend ordered the mahi fish tacos. How you can mess up a salad so badly is beyond me. I ordered the grilled hearts of romaine and the special parsnip soup. First, I was brought out a half of a grilled head of romaine with maybe 5 kernels of corn and 4 shaved slices of radish. No dressing. What was ever present was the strong smell of cheap cooking oil. Why ruin lettuce with crap oil? At least use olive oil. Anyway, the server brought out the correct salad (a smaller version with more toppings and actual dressing). Very whatever and the end of the lettuce wasn't even trimmed. And that cooking oil...gross. The fish tacos were good! One had a piece of fish that was kind of tough but overall good flavor. What do you expect for fish in the mountains of CO, though? I don't think this place will last unless they really turn things around.
