What is it with pubs and lacking originality when it comes to a name? The Railway, The Grapes and now, The Edinburgh. Most towns must have a least one of these in their local area, maybe even all three.
This Edinburgh pub is on College Road in Crosby, and until recently I didn't really know much about it, or even that it existed. From the outside, it looks like a fairly large and traditional pub and inside, the setting is similarly habitual as it offers a comfortable, cosy atmosphere in which to enjoy a pint or two. The place is usually busy with drinkers, many of them regulars, and although it has a bit of an 'old man' feel about it, it's a nice place to drink anyway.
Its location just down the road from the nearby AFC Marine football ground also means I'd imagine it'd be a good place to go for a pre or post match pint to deliberate over the day's events, although that may be a reason to avoid it for some people. read more
