Came and visited my friend who is doing residency at Texas Tech U. I love love this place! I like the layouts. The two bedroom two bath is really spacious with a walk in closet. The kitchen is nice, electric stove and has a lot of storage place. I also love the ceiling fan in the individual rooms in case you're feeling hot during the summer. The place is gated and has a 24/7 business center to fax, print, and scan with multiple computers in the room. A decent rec area and a swimming pool. The only con about this place is there are no elevators! read more

My car got towed for no reason when it was not even bothering anybody. Complete waste of my money and time. Instead of targeting residents and guests over parking, maybe management should focus on other things. On top of that, the people at the front desk are rarely helpful and come across as rude whenever residents need assistance. Overall just a frustrating experience living here. read more

The whole experience has been nothing short of disappointing. My husband chose to live here because it's right across from the medical school campus. We have been doing long distance with the hopes of me moving up here eventually, but I wouldn't recommend anyone live here. I came to visit one weekend and within a few hours of being here, my car was towed. It was parked in an unmarked, unreserved spot, all the way at the back of the parking lot away from everyone. The premises is covered in trash, the dog park gate is completely off the hinges, trash cans are overflowing with dog poop bags, the door to the stairwell in his building doesn't even have a door handle. It's just a hole in the door... An absolute joke. My husband went up to the office to inquire about getting out of the lease, and instead of having a pleasant conversation, the manager was extremely rude and just said "not my problem you want out of it" over and over. I have been living in this apartment for quite some time. Whenever I go to the office for help or information, the lady there always greets me with a negative attitude. I hope they can improve their professionalism, especially when dealing with residents. WOW, I lived here for 2 years. They charged me at the move-out for paint damage that was there when I moved in and for missing furniture that they never delivered to my apartment. I rented a furnished apartment, and those items never arrived in two years, even after multiple complaints. The pool is disgusting, and the hot tub hasn't been functional for years. The gym is extremely small, and they rented apartments to people without notifying them there will be construction under their windows for the next 6-8 months. Your choice... read more

Worst apartment complex in Lubbock. Went in to sign. No apartments available. Would let us know when one is available. 6 weeks later. We call and said we have found another apart and would NOT utilize The Edge. Miraculously, I received a lease back dated with my signature stating my apartment was ready for move in July 1. 2024. The day I received was July 5th. Scammers. Bait and switch. I reported to Better Business Bureau. The Edge is not a member. But has another similar complaint. Before this year living here was nice. But now it is awful. The management of this apartment has decided to take advantage of low prices during COVID and hire people to paint the apartment, do roofing work, and other construction and maintenance on all apartment units. Its awful. Its like living in a construction zone. It isn't safe, I've watched workers drop gutters and throw items off the edge of the roofs. The parking lot and sidewalks are littered with nails. There is no safety protocol, no areas are roped off and residents are not warned about where and when construction will take place. You are left to figure it out on a daily basis. And if you get a day off you will be awoken by the noise of a battery of hammers, beeping vehicles, loud music from the workers, and whatever else they decided to be obnoxious about that day. And when asked when this construction will complete the front office is not able to answer. "We don't know". For 2020, this apartment is not safe nor is it habitable. Add in the regular car break-ins on the premises and its almost comical how poorly managed this apartment complex is. Perhaps by the time you're reading this the construction is complete, but the point remains that the people who manage this property will turn a blind eye to your safety, your peace of mind, and your end of the bargain whenever they see fit. DO NOT LIVE HERE The management is awful and there are SOOO many hidden fees, everything you do is a hidden fee. The walls are paper thin and I can hear everything my neighbor does. The lady in the front is simply unbelievable. She is very rude, confrontational and not an appropriate person for customer care. On my arrival I had asked her about any additional fees that I should expect prior to doing my payment online (on my phone) right in front of her : She replied " NO there isnt" After making the payment, I see that I have been charged an extra 29$ and I ask her about it She replied "We deal with a company for our debit/credit transaction and they charge such, you can make a direct payment to us next time and avoid this fee" I replied "But I have just asked you about an additional fee and you told me there wasn't" She replied "YOU COULD OF READ THE FINE PRINT" with a rude tone I replied "you were just there in front of me, it would of been easy for you to tell me" she replies "IT WOULD OF BEEN EASY FOR YOU TO READ THE FINE PRINT" I was in disbelief and left Later in the month: I made another payment for an extra set of keys and the same lady was present. I inquired about any additional fees associated with the payment, since last time she did not tell me about the additional fee She replies "No I did tell you about the fee last time" In disbelief I say "NO you did NOT tell me about the fee last time" Her reply "YES I TOLD YOU MULTIPLE TIMES..." and then she went on and was talking over me and interrupting me. Basically straight up lying to my face and looking at me in the eyes. I couldn't believe it. I can not believe the treatment I am receiving in this facility, it is unheard of. If I knew that this would of been the case, I would of never rented here. read more

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here at the Edge. My boyfriend and I had a rough time getting used to the original management but a couple of months in it seems all of the office people had been either moved around or replaced, making for a much more pleasant group of people. Pros:The property is very well kept and working in Recreation myself I have to say that the pool always looks spectacular, even in the winter months. They have a nice gym, though small. The office is extremely useful and has a giant xerox! There is never dog poop where it shouldn't be, thanks to the numerous doggy bag stations. Parking is free and everyone parks where they should so there is never a problem with that. They occasionally hold free breakfast/dinner which makes it feel very personal. Cons: I would say that for the price, it could use some updates. I'm not a fan of the cabinetry, or the carpet used. The stairwells regularly wreak of a smell I just can't put my finger on, but I shouldn't complain because many stairwells aren't indoors and are way worse! For another set of keys you are paying nearly $90 for the gate and door key which I find quite ridiculous, but the safety of these apartments is top notch. All in all, no apartment is perfect but I think you will have a pleasant experience here. You will get privacy, cleanliness, and things that WORK! My recommendations: updated cabinets+floors Updated gym-stair master, sauna, bench press? Doubled keys Dog park! read more

The only benefit of the apt from my eyes is the good location. My husband is a resident at the hospital and thought that being across the street would make life easy. But I'm giving it a 1 star because the some of the girls who work in the office are on this crazy power trip. If they can make your life harder, they will. For example, we are trying to move out and we had a moving truck coming in. When the truck came, the lady at the desk wouldn't let them in. She said they just couldn't allow an "18 wheeler". Now I know that an 18 wheeler would be crazy to try to squeeze through the gate but it was NOT an 18 wheeler. It had 10 wheels, which I have definitely seen on the property. When we asked her to look at the truck again she refused to count and just kept saying it was too big. When we asked her what the weight limit was, she said we would have to wait for her boss to come back from her extended lunch. She said she could only interrupt her lunch in emergencies so we had to turn the moving truck away. Which we are getting charged for, by the way. When we finally got a hold of the manager, she also refused to give us a specific weight limit, insisting that a 16 to 18 wheeler was just too big. I just wish she saw the truck, I have a feeling that she would be able to count the wheels if she really put her mind to it. She then said that the truck was 56 feet long, which is absolutely wrong. We used a company called ABF and their trucks are 28 feet long. When I told her that we should call ABF together to ask for their dimensions she refused and said that she believes what her co-workers have told her. I told her that I would take a picture and get all the dimensions for her and no matter what I said she reverted back to that her staff said it was too big. But anyways, now we are starting our moving plans completely over and we are running behind on everything else. it's already such a stressful time and they just made it so much harder by refusing to count. Later on, by the way, they said there was no weight restriction but we still can't bring the truck in because of maneuverability issues, once again without getting the dimensions of the truck. We have dealt with similar power trips from her before...so we are just so so tired of dealing with the staff. It's much more expensive than other places in the area and with the edge, you don't really get what you pay for. Lately the place has been really dirty, with mud prints everywhere... Don't know what that's about. It's so important to have a staff that will work with you which is definitely not the case with some of the people. But anyways there are plenty of other places to rent from so I would go with that. read more

Do not live at The Edge. First, my building had a cockroach infestation. Talk about nasty!!! We were constantly killing giant roaches. Second, the walls are paper thin. I could hear everything my neighbors said and did, I mean everything! Finally, when it came time to move out, the company pinned a $1300 fine on my roommate and I claiming we had a pet. Neither one of us ever had a pet nor had an animal visit us. McDougal and The Edge did nothing to help us. It was their word against our word and we had no way to get the fine off our account. Do not live here unless you want to get ripped off and called liars. Horrible management. read more

I lived here while going to TTUHSC with a friend and absolutely loved it. Moved here after a horrible rental experience through Westmark and this was such a refreshing change. Their amenities are wonderful, especially for older students in higher education, like free printing in the business center that is open 24/7. I always felt very safe there, too, with all their gated security and use of the electronic keys to get in the buildings. I was lucky enough to live in the one building with an elevator (sorry Nok! :) ) so I had no complaints at all! The maintenance people and management were always lovely to deal with. I was spoiled here! My new apartment is nice, but not as nice as The Edge! read more

Lived there in 2017-2018. Property and building are fine, management is awful. While moving in, cable and WiFi were supposed to be included. Management couldn't fix issues for over a month to get the cable and WiFi going. While trying to move out, I was told I could move to a month to month lease by an employee, then was later told I couldn't renew my lease by a manager. Bottom line, apartments are great, location is great for people working at the hospital/students at the TTUHSC. But all in all management was terrible. read more

I lived here for about 3 years while attending school at TTU. I have nothing but great memories living at the edge. I actually miss living here. Management was super nice to me. My apartment had updated appliances, laminate and carpet floors. My only complaint would be the carpet. It was too old. However, the rest of my experience was great. As a student the free printing is a lifesaver. The location was excellent. I was able to ride my bike safely to school most days. Plus, 21 and over made the apartment so calm. read more

This apartment complex has the rudest and most unprofessional office manager I have ever encountered. I was informed during a tour after already signing a prelease how their "roommate matching" works and decided to withdraw my application. The woman I toured with, Dani, informed me that I would be matched with the first same gender applicant that appeared instead of them actually taking into account my roommate preferences. Or I would end up not being able to lease from there if no one else applied. When I went to formally withdraw, their office manager, who's name I was never given, spoke down to me and accused me of lying about what Dani had said to both me and my mother. Repeatedly she informed me of how unprofessional I was being with my choice of words and how many years she has been in this business. If I'm not correct, I'm fairly certain someone who has been working in this industry for 20 years would know how to speak to a potential client. This complex is nice and well kept for a reasonable rent and I would reccomend it for someone not utilizing their "roommate matching" service but if you will need an assigned roommate, go elsewhere. read more

I recently moved to Lubbock this past summer and am glad I picked the Edge to live. Though I had never visited before move-in, it turned out to be exactly what I had pictured and has been a great home. I have felt welcomed and have enjoyed living at the Edge since day one. My apartment is spacious, clean, and bright, and the location could not be more perfect as far as my commute goes to the Health & Science Center at Tech. The front desk workers and staff are very friendly, and maintenance requests have always been responded to quickly and exceptionally. There is never any noise, which is perfect as a student (the free printing is also a bonus). I highly recommend The Edge! read more

While the facility is nice and quiet (I have visited it many times), they had no units available. So I put my name on a waiting list since I was not moving to the area yet. They accepted a $500 deposit (besides an application fee) to put me on the list. When my plans changed and I was no longer moving to the area, I requested they take my name off the list. Since I had not even moved down far enough to be next in line for any particular unit, I figured this wouldn't be a problem. The problem arose when they would not refund my $500 deposit. They did nothing besides put me on and take me off a waiting list and took $500 for the trouble. All the front desk could say is, essentially, "check the fine print". Lesson learned: READ THE FINE PRINT AND DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! read more

I moved in September 2017 and all seemed great! Staff was helpful, at first! However, they began to have a rat problem around the entire complex, the internet was always 'being worked on,' the cable never worked, my car got broken into and all the property manager could do is apologize because they only have ONE SECURITY CAMERA at the entrance of the entire property, car break-ins were always an issue but all they do is email us and tell us to lock our vehicles, it's too expensive for what you're getting, the gates are ALWAYS broken which means that anyone could drive into the property, varies pet owners on the property NEVER pick up after their animals which leaves poop all over the property and the staff does nothing to fix that, and my neighbors were very loud and rude. Some of these issues could have been taken care of by the property and they weren't. I made sure to talk to the complex about my concerns, but it seemed as if they constantly ignored the issues. I would have loved if I had a review this honest about the complex before I signed the lease. You're better off living in a different complex, the neighborhood around it does not seem to help. The only pro was that it was close to the Texas Tech Campus. read more
