When i tell you you will regret living here i mean it. Don't bother looking at the pictures online or tour it, your building will look wayyy worse than that. Everything you're paying for basically doesn't work. The pool? doesn't work, the gates? don't work, nearly every building ac has issues, everyone complains about it. They'll take forever to fix an issue or simply wont address the complaint. The people at the front office don't know what they're doing, so they're no help at all. The water in our building wasn't working and the office told us that us not having water isn't a priority...if that doesn't tell you the bs you are going to have to deal with i know another example that will. We had mold. And i mean so much, to the point that it was affecting some of my roommates breathing. The unit above us had an issue that affected us, somehow water from their building was dripping through the floor, we put MULTIPLE maintenance requests, talked to the people at the front office and even spoke to the maintenance men, it took MONTHS for them to fix it. Don't even get me started with these overagesWorst place to EVER LIVE! All imma say is there are better apartment complexes out there even with rent going up i promise you you'll be better off somewhere else and at peace knowing you don't have to deal with so much bs. Oh and to top it off they're going to charge an insane amount of money when you move out. They charged a lot of my friends $500 for carpet cleaning/replacement when the carpet wasn't bad, it was just natural wear and tear. They'll use any excuse to charge you. They tried to charge me for a parking pass..when i don't even own a car! They tried to charge me for a key fob that i turned in! They don't verify anything just charge charge charge! so i go to check my account and there are is a charge for $408 from the edge from me moving out because i had wall shelves on the wall that they claim that were "damages" and i also had led lights around the walls that they claim were damages and i had weatherstripping at the bottom of my door because they had no installation nor weatherstripping around the windows nor did they have the weatherstripping around the main door so through the winter, you would freeze to death, if you are in bedroom c because it is by the door removing these things, paint was chipped off the walls and on the doors none of this would amount up to $408 but as i am moving out, the closet i noticed that i've been living with mold in my closet and it has grown so large i never noticed it until i was moving, it was on my bath towels that i was using to bathe with and i was wondering why i kept getting sick. i did not notice that it was there because they do not treat it. they painted over it so it looks like it's not there, if you are a parent and have any concern about your child's well-being. do not move them to the age anyone that has eyes can see that this is mold and it's not a paint job. it's inside of the walls, but there are money gouged you off of "damages". read more

My toilet stopped working and was having issues manually having to flush and get water for the tank every time but thankfully Mr.Jeter was helping my roommate with a another issue and was able to come over and fix mine without having to set up another request through the maintenance form The Edge offers. I'd leave less if I could. I lived here for 2 years. The pool was cleaned maybe 3 total times in that time span. Its never open. I was charged $100 for a tiny piece of plastic parking pass that was forgotten in my totaled car after an accident. The rooms suck and are old. They will nickel and dime you to death. Someone was murdered on the basketball court years prior so not a safe area. I would recommend any apartment other than one owned by American Campus Communities. I Guess this is me updating my experience here for 2 years almost worth of living at The Edge. It is February 5th, 2024. If you haven't seen my review it was almost 2 years ago on this same page. The Edge over this period of time actually improved impressively. I have never left The Edge. Even over the summer and I can definitely say that THEY'RE TRYING and I mean really trying. Over the summer they had an absolute ARMY of trades people out here. Fixing EVERYTHING they could. For no extra charge. They even painted my apartment. If this place keeps working at it. They will be GREAT. No lie. They gotta get rid of the hideous Volleyball Court. Maybe get some of the apartments a REALLY strong deep clean. Remove Single Digits from their internet provider plan or whatever (Yes the WiFi) is still horrifically bad. With Ethernet is manageable, but the Ethernet ports in the rooms don't work, so you have to route it through the Appartement to the actual box and it's just annoying. But the thing that you have to realize about being at the Edge is that you're a STUDENT. You aren't here to live luxury. You're here to better yourself. Perfect place to be humbled with the basic necessities. That's why I own a 3D Animation studio now, and I couldn't have done it without my shitty WiFi. The staff realizes you're a student (Shout out the bookkeeper) Ms. Bianca I was a pain in her ass, but she worked with me as long I worked with her, and we got that rent paid. With all that being said be realistic about who you are and what you're looking for coming to college and living at the Edge. You here for affordable housing and an education or you here to party and repeat Calculus or Financial Accounting? Also, yes I never see anyone in the pool but it's cold as hell most of the time people are here ignore anyone's review about the pool they're dumb. read more

I've been living here this year, and it's pretty poorly maintained. We don't have access to many facilities advertised though we pay for them in our rent. When we moved in, it wouldn't let me complete the room damage report and there was nothing the office could do to help me so I could fill it out. Our apartment only has one working Ethernet port out of the four bedrooms and living room. Their renovations consistently block out parking spots and result in loud noises either early in the morning or late into night. The apartments all have visible damage on the interiors and exteriors and are constantly messy outside. There is lots of litter, and it honestly isn't the safest place to live either. The office tries to be helpful but the company that owns it makes the way it's run too complicated at times. If the office staff weren't nice, the gym wasn't functional, and I didn't have roommates I got along with, this place would be a one star read more

Honestly a terrible place I wouldn't suggest moving here as a student. WiFi is terrible and goes out for more than two hours. I've definitely taken a few cold showers. Security people at gate aren't the nicest and always have some smart allic attitude. Also I moved into a filthy apartment I moved in a day early (which they charged me 20 dollars for) and there was a horrible stinch of cigarettes. Also there were gnats flying around with a sink full of dishes with mold and mildew. The fridge and freezer was full of old food. Also dish washer doesn't work . Can't forget about one of my roommates getting evicted and people staying for FREE because they didn't come lock the door, and waking up to a different person on the couch every day. I honestly don't know why they have visitor parking it doesn't matter they don't tow or anything anyone can came and go as they please.Only good thing about this is it's close to campus. I'm sure you can find something way better keep looking read more

Do not do it do not live here. I get constant emails about how they need to enter the apartment. It's very loud. If you get locked out because their equipment is malfunctioning too bad hope you have another place to stay because their helpline is useless and if you do get someone to respond they give you the runaround and then hang up on you. read more

If you are parent, do not allow your child to stay here. My daughter is currently in a situation where an individual moved into a room vacated by a fourth roommate. She moved in and so did her boyfriend. He is abusive - verbally and physically. He and his "girlfriend" smoke cigarettes and pot all day long. My daughter and the other two roommates are terrified. One day the boyfriend threw the girlfriend against the wall. The office at The Edge told them to call the police, which they did. The police came, but nothing happened. "Didn't see it happen." Marquise, the manager at The Edge, said there's nothing he can do. He is afraid of a lawsuit -- from the girl who is causing all the problems, not from us whose daughters are in danger. Literally, our girls lock their doors and hide in their rooms. The Edge also said if the girls want to move to another apartment, they will have to pay the $250 to break their leases!! The website for The Edge gives you the impression that this apartment complex is primarily for students. This woman and her boyfriend are NOT students and most of the people in the other apartments are not students either. A very threatening, dangerous place. Affecting our daughters' health, well being and grades while they try and study. What an awful, awful place. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. So 3 people have been killed in the course of me living here, and they never updated us once about the incidents. The last murder that happened, they took the basketball hoops down because the shooting happened on the court. And then lied to us and said it was because of COVID restrictions - even though they had JUST reopened the court about a week earlier. By the way, the gym, pool, volleyball and basketball courts have been closed since Covid (with the exception of the story I mentioned above), and our rent hasn't changed. They are still charging us for facilities that we can't use, and refuse to give us a discount. Things break all the time, and they take forever to get fixed. It has been 2 weeks since the AC went out and they just started "fixing it" three days ago. They have Boingo WiFi, which is the most stupid, complicated WiFi EVER. It always goes out when you need it the most. They towed my friend who parked in the spot next to a full visitors lot in between 1-6 am, but they won't tow a double parked green Nisan that has been DOUBLE PARKED since April - it's October. I have reported it to the office, and they won't tow them. I have been locked out of the complex gate at 3 AM and had no way to get in until someone came through the exit gate an hour later. When I complained (because this area is unsafe), they never got back to me. I hate this place. The only positive about this place is that most of the general workers here (maintenance, the office people) are all very nice. If you're considering moving here, look into Blvd 98. Only $30~ bucks a month more for a MUCH better and safer experience than here. read more

If you enjoy the overbearing life intrusions of college dorm RAs, paying well over the cost of a full apartment for a closet sized room and a quarter of a living room, constant loud partying and shouting at all hours of the day and night, and exes that call you every other day for months after you leave them, boy are you in luck! Act now before another floor of their apartments burns down! No seriously though, do NOT move in here. Heres some good reasons why. -I was woken by the office coming in without notice almost every morning for three years. -Maintenance comes eventually. Or not. Also, you have internet connection about a third of the time. -You WILL live next to someone who parties exclusively from 1am till 10am. Police will not come into the complex to stop them, security will not answer the phone, the office will not do anything -If you get a bad random roommate (you will), the office won't do anything about them. They're not paying their power bill? That's your problem. I was actually told to f- off by the manager of accounts. -After I moved out, leaving my room spotless, I was not given my deposit back. I was, however, charged $1.63 for something that was never explained to me, and was called every morning at 8am and threatened to have a collection agency come after me for it. For $1.63. -Speaking of calls, the office is big on communication. Every morning they didn't walk in, they called. Even after I moved out, they'd call at 8-10am every day to verify this and that and try to charge me for more stuff. -If your neighbors smoke cigarettes (they will, amongst other things), you WILL be threatened with charges or charged every other month for cigarette butts being on the ground around your apartment. -I was fortunate enough to not live next to the basketball court, but I did live along the main route students take to classes in the morning. If you are the former, you now wake up to basketball at 6am every morning. If you're the latter, you now have 8ams every morning. Do not make the mistake I did for 3 years. I highly recommend rethinking your decision to live here. This is by far the worst option near/on campus. There is a reason it is so cheap to live here, it is because the staff is unpaid and lazy. They have little to no idea what is ever going on and odds are if you want something done you will have to do it yourself. When i moved in there was countless problems with the apartment already, the microwave had a piece hanging from it and barely worked, the washing machine sounds like someone kicking the door down and we get noise complaints all the time for it, the sinks back up and will clog for weeks as the maintenance man wont fix it, the internet was shut down during mid terms for some reason (we are all college students by the way) and they have still yet to fix the internet. When i called to ask how long it was going to take they said they have no idea and i had to end up calling some provider named boingo to figure it all out which took 2 months so far and is yet to be resolved. The list keeps going with problems here such-as the dish washer having water in it from a year ago and doesn't work to other countless problems. After seeing all these problems i called corporate and asked at least some money off for the following month but they declined and told me it wasn't their problem as they never give discounts. Between the people running this campus, the staff working this campus, and the provided appliances here i do not know what is worse. I would rate this place as a 2/10 only because friendly neighbors and roommates. Do not choose to spend any money here it is a complete ripoff. read more

Terrible place. I'm a parent and my daughter insisted on living here with friends. Two broke their lease to escape this place and the last 2 will leave as soon as possible. It's old, appliances are impossibly cheap and everything keeps breaking. And, they fine the kids for everything they can. One handy-man told them they will probably get fined because their crappy appliances keep breaking. I would only consider this place if every other apartment in Charlotte is full. read more
