Utah Olympic Park was such a cool place to visit, even just as a spectator. The whole area is very easy to access, which made it simple to pop in and explore without much planning. I enjoyed just standing there taking it all in and watching everyone fly down the courses like it was no big deal. It's a really enjoyable stop that makes winter sports feel exciting even if you're staying safely on the sidelines.

The stadium has a great soccer vibe, and the unpadded plastic seats are comfortable enough to enjoy the game for a few hours. There are plenty of snack and drink options, though be prepared for the typical stadium prices that are on the high side. If you're flexible, waiting for last-minute seats can sometimes score you a bargain, which is always nice. The stadium does have some accessibility challenges for ADA and wheelchair users. There's only one place to store mobility scooters, so if your seats are on the opposite side of the stadium, it can be quite a trek. It definitely helps to have someone with you. I had to ride and drop my mom's scooter when the two of us went to a Real Salt Lake game last summer, which was a bit cumbersome but still manageable with planning. The stadium is well laid out and there isn't a truly terribly seat in the whole venue. It's designed perfectly so it's easy in and easy out, and I have zero complaints about the game day experience over the years. The team store is terrific as well, with tons of great merchandise if you need to get outfitted as a fan. While the name is now pretty generic and boring, America First Field is a solid spot for MLS soccer. It captures that local soccer energy perfectly, and I always have a great time cheering on Real Salt Lake despite the minor accessibility hurdles and pricey concessions.

The biggest downside to Rice-Eccles is that most of the seating is bleachers with no back. For long games or shows, this is kind of a bummer. Aside from that, everything else is pretty solid. Several food and beverage choices are available. The plethora of soda fountains and refills is awesome. Very easy to refill a water cup or bottle as well. Bathrooms are plentiful and clean. There is lots of parking around the stadium, and there is a city train and bus station literally right outside. While the exit process can be a cluster, the convenience of not driving a car here and not having to worry about parking can't be beat. It was great for us staying downtown. Plus, transit is free before and after events on certain routes. They do sell alcohol for non-university events, if I understand correctly, but I didn't verify. Our show did have alcohol available.

The people who are working the venue are really nice and super helpful. This was my first time at a concert at the Maverick Center and their acoustics are not as good as other indoor arenas I have been to. I don't know if it was the band or just the way the sound is set up in the building. There was so much base that it made it really difficult to hear the singing. The venue is decent. I would come back if there is a band I'm interested in seeing.

It felt more intimate than a huge stadium, and I loved that it was close to our hotel. The area around it was cute too, and there's a whole floor inside with different stadium-style food options. A couple things to know before going...it gets REALLY hot inside. I was sweating like I was in hot yoga even while drinking plenty of cold water. I really wish there had been better air circulation, especially with a packed crowd. Also, we grabbed tacos from one of the concession stands and unfortunately they were cold, including the meat, which was disappointing. The biggest issue was actually leaving the venue. Getting in was easy, but getting out was a completely different story. It took somewhere around 1 1/2-2 hours before traffic was properly coordinated and we could finally get moving. It seemed like the surrounding streets may have needed to be blocked off or better managed to help everyone leave. Hopefully that's something they can improve for future events. Aside from those things, we had an amazing time. Olivia Dean was incredible, and the Utah crowd was honestly one of my favorite parts.
