It offers group classes for those who need an extra push or just thrive in a group environment. Daycare is also available for those who need it. Bold is typically very clean, with microfiber towels and cleaner provided to their clients. There are showers onsite and saunas in the bathrooms which is a huge benefit to their members. There are plenty of cardio machines, however that can also be placed in the cons section depending on your relationship with cardio. So, you ask, what's the issue? Me. I'm the issue. Full disclosure, I'm a competitive bodybuilder so I take quite a bit of time in the gym, have certain exercises that need to be completed in a certain order, and I just can't quite do that at Bold. The biggest reason is lack of equipment. Listen, there are a lot of members, and that's great, however when you only have one smith machine, one set of 100lb dumbbells, one hip thrust machine...you see where I'm going with this. Also, people do NOT re-rack their weights and it drives me insane! There seems to be no common courtesy or rules when it comes to this issue. Earlier I mentioned their cardio machines - I feel like if they decreased the number of cardio machines they could maybe add another dumbbell rack and free up the current dumbbell rack placement. I come here because it's the closest gym to me, and on upper body days I can get an effective and quick workout when I go in the middle of the day. It's more of a 3.5 star to me, but again, I'm probably the problem.

I wanted something difficult. I needed accountability. And I longed for strength. Being one month in, I'm so grateful for this space. All of the trainers are absolutely wonderful. They accept my novice position within the CrossFit community, while not settling for me to give up. They want me to do hard things for myself, and not for the workout, and I know this due to the way they treat me. They've paid close attention to me from an encouragement, teaching and commitment standpoint without making me feel incapable and incompetent. For the first time in my nearly four decades on the planet, I'm craving my next day at the gym after leaving yet another strenuous one. I liked that it was a women's only gym. No pressure at all. We all at one point or another look crazy trying to do something, but they are encouraging and helpful along the way. I went mostly for the group classes. They always had a great variety with different types of Zumba, Step Aerobics, PiYo, and Yoga, etc. They also have a sauna, steam room, and a small pool. They offer water aerobics classes as well as open swim time too. The reason I left this gym is because there needed to be some upgrades with the fitness equipment. The group classes were great, but when I finally progressed in my fitness journey, it did not measure up. The weight machines were pretty old, and left much to be desired. They did have great personal trainers there, but I still wanted more when I had to do workouts on my own. I felt that with all the money we were investing that they could have upgraded machines once a year or something. Just so you know that they care about your needs. The service was great, and the staff was amazing. I must say that if they were to ever update their equipment. I would definitely return, but there are other gyms that offer all of these classes with better equipment. Granted these other places do not have that sense of camaraderie that this gym does, but I like updated stuff too much. Give me technology and a smooth glide.
