It's a pub, but it's also a museum of sorts for you guessed it, The Stone Roses (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE), Oasis, Joy Division, and the like. If I could win the lottery, which I have never played, I would move to York and be within walking distance of The Stone Roses Bar. The staff are superb. Exceptional humans. The bar is nothing short of perfection. The drinks are well-made, tasty, and affordable. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Always. Looking forward to my next visit.

It's quite big inside, clean and nicely furnished. There is a bar with seating, a stage area, and a large space at the back with a pool table and games machine. Prices were pretty average-about £3 for a mixer and spirit or a pint. The pub was friendly enough and there was live music which was nice. It was also open quite late, I think we left about 1am but it was still open.

It isnt fancy, but its clean, fairly quiet, easy to find, and the people are friendly. Warm, comfy beds, clean towels, soaps and shampoos. Everything you need really. It is a pub downstairs, so if you dont want to bother with going in and out of a pub setting or the pub noise bothers you (it closes at 11pm), than this place isnt for you, but we found it ideal for a cheap, easy York getaway,

Rooms are very basic and have double beds, TV, Tea / Coffee and shower / toilet. The room I used was £25 per night per room based on single occupancy or £22 per person based on two sharing. They do not do breakfast but they are loads of cafes near by. The rate is very good in comparison to local hotels. They only have enough parking for a couple of cars and parking is around the corner.

We were kept up until 6am with the owner and i presume family partying all night. We had my elderly mother with us who was in a room of her own and was actually frightened. Doors banging, shouting, music all night long. Rooms were £50 each which is cheap but the rooms are basic with dirty carpet and no matter how cheap a room you should not have to put up with that. I am very easy going and don't might people coming in late and being a bit loud while heading to their room, we've all been there, but that was just ridiculous. In the morning i went to complain, got the cleaner as, surprise surprise the owner was probably still sleeping it off upstair when the rest of us had to get out!!!
