Excellent. That pretty much sums up my experience staying at the Driftwood. Stayed here for one night recently, and I was super impressed. The from of the premises is pretty unassuming. However, once you walk in it's cosy central. We were given room 4 for our stay. There are only 7 rooms in total, from what I was told all rooms are double beds. Our room overlooked the bay at Rosses Point. The room was absolutely gorgeous, there was a big comfy double bed, and right by the window a couple of big leather chairs to perch in. There was a stand alone bath in the room, which was a nice feature. Bottles of water, a Nespresso machine, a kettle and a stash of tea and coffee were in the room.
Downstairs, beside reception there is a nice restaurant and bar. We ate here the evening we arrived, and the dining experience was delightful. We went for some wings, and the veggie plate. All delicious. The veggie plate was served with three types of hummus and homemade bread. The wings were spot on.
Breakfast the next morning was in the restaurant. It was not the usual hotel buffet style, which was great. We were handed a menu and ordered what we wanted. I went for porridge and a sausage sandwich. The porridge was delicious, and the sausage sandwich was super fancy.
All in all, I highly recommend the Driftwood as an accommodation and for dining. Staff were great, really friendly. The room was super cosy and comfortable. The food was unreal. read more
