They're working very hard to get the course up to their standards after taking over in 2021. Stop in and support these great people. Pizza is delicious and prices can't be beat. Greens were ok but, not great by any means. About 1/2 way through our round we finally saw someone mowing. They were mowing around the green we were playing to. Most courses will pull off and let you finish the hole. Not here! We waited a good 10 minutes to shoot our approach shot while the guy took his sweet time. Golf here if you want but, I will not spend another dime of my money here. For not much more you can play a course that is MUCH nicer.

The West Branch Country Club is a great golf course with some of the best greens in Michigan. Before every round, the simple reality is that the pro-shop can get things off to a good start. Driving into the course you are met by a very professional and classy sign denoting the golf course by name. A long, winding and picturesque drive eventually gets you to the pro shop. Let's get to the good stuff right away.... PROS: -staff is superb, friendly, professional and always smiling. -range balls are free with the purchase of your round. -the horticulture around the course is well maintained and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. -definitely a challenging course for players of all skill levels -lightning fast greens -turf was very well-maintained and in great shape. -BYOB! They don't have a liquor license so bring your own and save! They have all the ice you need and coolers on the carts. -plenty of water stations on the course -off the tee most fairways are wide open and allow for those who may not hit the straight ball each time to still make a second shot. - greens fees include cart CONS: -a bit in the pricey side for a golf course near West Branch MI. $80 is a bit much. -under-rated by the PGA. 130 slope from the whites is not accurate. The Bootleegger Bar is such a fun spot on the property - really enjoyed having a drink out there! We stayed in their lodge. The accommodations were adequate, but in need of an update. It's a beautiful secluded property, and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again, but the lodge rooms need some "vision". The staff were very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The course yesterday was so wet too the point your shoes are completely saturated. But, I will still come because it's a nice par three course. They don't have many carts so plan on walking. The guy that runs it is really nice.
